I feel pretty good now because I know that the nicotine is pretty much out of my system by now. The cravings/urges I occasionally feels are purely psychological. I can handle them.
That's awesome, OWN. I watched my mom and my H quit smoking, and I know how hard it was for them, so I think it's great you've gone 2 weeks. And that the cravings aren't as bad. H still has them when around his heavy smoking friends, but for the most part they're gone.
That is SO awesome, OWN! Congrats, and keep up the hard work! My boss is trying to quit and she's struggling. Any awesome tips?
Also, can I threadjack for a just a second? Please? Ok, thanks. OWN, did you DIY that awesome frame with your wedding date in it? I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and I want to do one.
Thanks, everyone. I am cheating, really, because I'm on Chantix and even if I wanted to smoke, it would taste like garbageass and wouldn't give me a buzz.
J & K: I did make it and it was the easiest project ever. I just went around the neighborhood taking pictures of numbers - most were from houses, the "seven" was from a bank address, and I got a few numbers from a hopscotch grid, too. I bought a pre-matted frame from Michael's and put the wedding date numbers in there. The others I put into those little cardboard "tent" frames and used for table numbers at the reception. It was fun and so so so easy.

Wow, that's even easier than I thought it would be! When you look at it, the numbers actually look 3D, I had to go back and look again when you said they were photos. So cool! I hope you don't mind if I steal...ahem BORROW your idea, because I absolutely love it.
STeal away! I really stole the idea - I'd seen cool pictures of individual letters put together to spell a name or the word "L O V E" or something. They're really expensive to buy but so easy to do.
Mrs - yes, you can! Some people find huge support and help from going to online support groups. Personally, I didn't like those because it was just talk about smoking smoking smoking and it increased my cravings rather than decreased them. But for many people, talking with others who are at exactly the same stage in their quit as you are, or a little ahead or a little behind, is hugely helpful. You can do this!
Thank you. I'm trying cold turkey and I would be lying if I said it wasn't hell on wheels some days. I mostly try to keep healthy snacks on hand and that helps, also keeping busy.
