Called to Mission Field

Hey....I'm getting married in December. My fiance and I konw that we have been called to the mission field in a foreign country. We're very young--19. He'll be 20 when we get married and I will be a week after the wedding. Anyone else on here going into some form of ministry?

    That's awesome everyone! I go to Johnson Bible College & i'm getting a degree in Bible and getting certified to teach ESL. It's so awesome to see the way that God works.

    We are :) Right now FI is a youth pastor at his church but we're planning on starting a music ministry and traveling with that.

    Hi Brownyn!  Welcome to the board!

    FI graduated in December with a degree in Biblical Studies and a minor in Youth Ministry and accepted a call to a Youth Pastor position in Kansas in February!

    I got my B.A. in global ministry, but am currently not actively using it. I've been involved in youth ministry and FI and I have been talking with the youth pastor at our church about getting involved again. Originally I wanted to be a missionary overseas, but God redirected my path. My vision is that I will teach elementary school during the school year while working with the youth ministry (alongside FI as we have the same ministry calling), teaching them and advocating missions to the youth we're working with, and then arranging and leading missions trips for teens in the summer.

    FYI, if you have any student loans be aware that those can hinge against missions organizations allowing you to go abroad! So take care of them if at all possible so it doesn't hurt being able to go out of the country!
