October 2012 Weddings

Pre-wedding Chill Day

So, as I'm sure all of you are, I am so booked up before our wedding between work travel, personal travel, wedding organizing, wedding shower, dress fittings, etc. Turns out that the weekend before our wedding I have NOTHING on the calendar (even my FI is not working!).  So I asked him if we can just do something for the 2 of us that weekend (not necessarily a get away since our honeymoon is 2 weeks later).  So he had a great idea, to reenact our first date (we spent 8 hours doing all kinds of stuff).

I was wondering if any of you ladies were having a Pre-wedding-moon and what you were doing.

Re: Pre-wedding Chill Day

  • That's really cute!!  We're talking about going back to the place where we got our couples massage at the day he proposed, the day before the wedding for a nice stress reliever.  I hope we can swing it.  This Sunday we have a junk food football day planned on the couch.  A.K.A. Bachlorette & Bachlor party recovery day!

  • Sounds interesting.  It is definitely a goal of mine to have EVERYTHING done by the end of this month, so that October can be as stree free as possible.  Since our wedding is towards the end of the month, hopefully we'll be able to do something like this.

  • That's really cute!!  The weekend before our wedding the other friend that is getting married is having his second bachelor party....I'm not sure if FI is going but I think he's leaning towards no.  I've always wanted to go to Six Flags, and since they aren't open during the week (to do in between the wedding and honeymoon), FI brought up the idea last night of going the Sunday before the wedding.  One big fun day without thinking about the wedding!!!

  • My FI and I are having an unplugged weekend. I won't grade papers, he won't play guitar. I won't monitor Saturday detention, he won't take any weekend gigs. We're going to bop around different farmers' markets for pumpkins and cider, then go out to dinner to one of our favorite restaurants.

I'm really looking forward to it!

  • That sounds really nice!!  We've got a lot of non-wedding related things going on during the next four weekends before the wedding (including FI turning 30, his BM turning 30), so no real time to just chill.  It'll be nice to focus on something other than the wedding though.

  • sounds like a great idea!  we never talked about it because pretty much all our wedding stuff is done and what's remaining isn't stressful for us.
we are spending all the weekends  in october working on our new house, so that will be some nice, alone time for us.
  • The state fair is usually the first or second week of October so it'd be nice to sneak over to that one afternoon..we'll see! October is definately going to be a busy month as well and this month is SUPER packed! I've got something planned every weekend. Possibly from here on out to the wedding! I want to go with my girls to six flags for my bachelorette..but it prob won't happen!

  • These are great ideas. I'd love nothing more than to spend the weekend before our wedding hanging out with friends watching college football, like we did back "in the day"! We'll see if that works out, but we're definitely trying to get everything done as early as we can to avoid stress later!
  • We are going to float in the pool while drinking maragritas at my parents from Saurday night until the day we get married.  Ok maybe not the whole time.  We did have some stuff planned while we are in FL before the wedding, but I think we are going to can it.  The only things that we do have planned for the week before is a trip to the venue and to the county clerks office for our marriage license and my mom got a groupon for a massage for both of us.  Other than that we will be lazing around and not doing much.

  • What a great idea... the Saturday before our wedding is exactly 4 1/2 yrs from our 1st date. Just marked it off on my calendar! Thanks for sharing.
Just my two cents! Penny L G M
