Snarky Brides

What would you do...

...with an extra $3,000?

Because I just got a surprise payout from my last job.

Tell me how to spend my money.

Also, tell me how your lives are going.

Re: What would you do...

  • Take a trip.  3k buys a really nice roadtrip.
  • That's awesome CM. congratulations. :-) enjoy the money. Your pup is so cute. What kind again? I hope the peeing stopped.

  • My default answer is always to go on a vacation!

But I suppose I might also buy new furniture.  Geez I need new living room furniture.

(BTW-- cute puppy.  He looks like he's asking me to give him something, but I don't know what!)

    SaveSave
  • Sweet! I'd pay my stupid taxes with it. And probably save the rest. Fun ideas?

    A weekend getaway.
    Shopping spree.
    Spa day.
    VEGAS.

Nothing too exciting going on here in Montana.
  • Honestly I would probably be lame and maybe buy a new summer dress and then save the rest.

Life is good.  I lost all of my baby weight and I am really proud of myself and celebrated by baking snicker-doodle cupcakes with my sister :)

  • Spa day then the rest in savings.  Or 2 tickets to Hawaii, not sure.  :)

  • I'd upgrade furniture or kitchen appliances, something that will last a good long time.

We need to furnish our new house so right now I would say furniture. Otherwise I would buy some clothes, and save the rest. Or take a vaction, that sounds awesome right about now.

    Good Job Wisc!
  • When we got those economy-stimulations checks 4 or 5 years ago I bought a new bike.  That was sweet.

I'd say spa day, new outift, nice dinner out, then savings.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Savings for house money, put it towards a car payment, savings for a rainy day, basically savings. I'm lame. I just got a bonus and it went promptly into savings.

I might treat myself to a latte or out to dinner. And by out to dinner I mean like Applebees because that's about all we've got in this small town.
  • I'm changing my answer (thanks Jen) - new washer & dryer.  The super quiet, energy efficient, won't shake half the house during the spin cycle kind.

</div><div>Or that. I really want a new washer and dryer. The other night I asked my H when we could get a new set and he said, "Well when we move in August!" I was excited for all of two seconds, until he said, "Because the new house will have a washer and dryer that will be <em>new to you."</em>

  • Ooh Jen wins.

    I wanna upgrade the backyard!

  • Sushi sounds awesome right now. I've never had Greek, what do you get at a Greek place?

<div>Personally, I get skordalia (potato dip usually served with eggplant/zucchini chips) and gigantes (lima beans, yum). Also, I love gyros (usually souvlaki but my H likes chicken, too). Because I'm super American and love tzatziki (the yogurt/cucumber/dill dip).</div>

  • Thanks!

Puggles remind me of muggles, which makes me think of Harry Potter, so I think your dog is a wizard.

I'm a frivolous twit when it comes to money I'm not expecting, so I say five words: Disney World All Expenses Paid.

And Rigby looks like I just told him that Santa Claus isn't real. ETA - Correction: Anwar Sadat looks like I just told him that Santa Claus isn't real.

  • Oooh congrats!

I'm lame and I'd save it.  Maybe buy some much needed clothes and then save the rest.  I"m too young to be this boring ...
  • Me personally? Nice dinner w/FI and straight to savings.  Or splurge and blow it all on a vacation. Leaning toward the 2nd option.

    Good for you!
