Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh

Bridal Shops

Hi Everyone!

My wedding is in Columbus, OH, but my parents and one of my BMs live in Pittsburgh (I'm originally from there). I'm visiting in a few weeks and will be gown shopping for the first time. I will probably end up buying my dress in Pittsburgh so that my mom and BM will be able to help me choose.

So far, Sorelle Bridal Salon and Babettes have been recommended to me. Any other recommendations?? I'm not familiar with the wedding scene in Pittsburgh at all, so any help would be great! Thanks! Smile

I bought my dress at Bridal Beginning in Mt. Lebanon. I had a very positive experience there!

I also looked for dresses at Big Day in the strip district and One Enchanted Evening in Wexford. I had a great experience at Big Day, but only a so-so experience at One Enchanted Evening.

    Good luck and have fun!

I got my dress at The Exquisite Bride in Murrysville.  My BM got hers at Bridal Beginnings in Mt. Lebanon.  Both of us had great experiences.

I looked at Babettes and ran out screaming.  It seemed to me that the quality of the dresses they carry is a bit lower.  I also had a bad experience with the girl helping me.

The White Orchid on Route 51 in the South Hills has been recommended on here as well- my mom bought her dress for my wedding there.

I bought at MB Bride in greensburg and had a fantastic experience. I chose them because they have one of the largest collections of dresses. However, it really depends on what consultant you get!

I bought mine at MB Bride for the size of the selection as well and had a good experience. My consultant was Alicia.

I have had an awesome experience at Michael's Bridal galleria on 19 in the North Hills. My BMs and I have all had a really great time with all of the ladies there.

    Good luck and have fun!

Chiming in - I had a great experience at The Exquisite Bride in Murrysville.  They were having an awesome sample sale, and I was thisclose to buying a Maggie Sottero ball gown with pick-ups for $148 (insane!).  But they were a tad pushy when we were leaving - however, FWIW I think my mom added to the situation as she LOVED one of the dresses, so they were playing to that.

ETA:  The selection was great as well.

If you don't find anything in the Pittsburgh area - I highly recommend Catan's Bridal Fashions in Strongsville, Ohio.  My daughter got a beautiful Allure gown there.

They have a huge inventory of gowns in all price ranges and the sales staff were incredibly nice and helpful.  We had a great experience there.  :)

I also highly recommond Sorelle Bridal and MB Bride, if Butler isn't too far for you I ended up ordering from Bridal Treasures, while the selection on site wasn't the best, they were able to order my Maggie Sottero for the best price around and included many extras (Free veil up to $99 and Alterations up to $150 if the dress is 1k or over)

I did not enjoy Bridal Beginnings or White Orchid, but only because you couldn't look at the dresses, they chose dresses for you.

I bought my dress at Anne Gregory for the Bride in Mt. Lebanon. I highly recommend it - from the moment you walk in the store, you can tell the difference. Exquisite gowns and no mobs of people. The store is open by appointment only, so you'll receive an intimate, relaxed experience. Greg sat down and talked to me about my vision. I recommend bringing in photos of the gown styles you like. He looked at mine, and the second dress I tried on was the one! I didn't feel rushed or pressured at all, so I had time to really make a wonderful decision. I can't wait to wear my dress in August! Good luck : )
