florist recomendations?

Hi Ladies -
We are getting married next september and have a few of the big things out of the way (venue/photography/dj) but I have no idea where to start looking for good florists. Do you have any recomendation for a experienced florist who is still moderately priced? Any info you have would be very appreciated!
Thanks :)

Sounds funny but PM me if you need the number of my florist - flowers by Gary.  Gary is a hair stylist who does flowers on the side (used to be a florist in his younger days).  He doesn't have a brick and mortar store so he isn't as expensive as some of the other folks out there.  *he's based out of his salon in White Bear Lake*  He did the flowers for my wedding and my sisters wedding and they were beautiful.

We used Molly from Petals & Sprigs & Twigs.  I loved working with her, and her rates were about 1/2 of the other quotes I got (for the same package and types of flowers.)

    You didn't ask, but here's a few pictures :)

I'm using Anna from Bumblebee Florals. She's been great to work with, always emails back quickly, and was able to get my vision even over email. I get to meet her tonight and I'm so excited! And her prices are very reasonable! :)

I am in love with Tara Nelson from Elegance By Design (elegancebydesign@comcast.net).  She was not the cheapest florist we met with but she was right in the ballpark and her arrangements were gorgeous!  I really wanted good sized bouquets and both her bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets were a great size with tons of flowers in them.

I'm no help but thanks for posting - I am also trying to figure out florist.  How does one even go about figuring out floral budget?  I obviously want bouquets for me, bridal party, etc. but as far as centerpieces, etc. I'm still thinking what I want - flowers are gorgeous but seem really expensive and not very 'green' since they're only around for the event...

TO figure out what our budget was, I asked around on here and found the average to be maybe 500-600 (very roughly) for bouquets, bouts, and corsages. Then when I figured out I wanted centerpieces on top of that, I got a quote for that as well. Using Jeni from Simply Stated Elegance, it was around 1200 for everything.

I guess I would get a few quotes, and also weigh how important flowers are to you. Don't care? then keep it simple.

Also, we gave away all the flowers at the end of the night to those who wanted them, so they could enjoy them for the next week. We bought bouquet bags at a florist to wrap them in. So while not completely green, at least they were enjoyed longer than one day.

We used Carra Otten from La Petite Fleur. Absolutely incredible flowers. People commented on them all night. She is extremely creative and skilled at what she does. I've never seen two weddings alike on her website. She is very thorough at her initial client meetings and got us a price quote within 48 hours. Worked within our budget ($700) and offers set up/delivery for a very reasonable price. I would reccomend her to any bride!!

We are only doing the flowers for bouquets and bouts.  We decided to go with cupcake centerpieces ( I found fun little 13-ct cupcake stands on Amazon).  Cuts down the flower budget and cake budget at the same time!  And I have a feeling that the cupcakes will definitely be "used", haha
