Speak to me of Bare Escentuals

I'm looking for something super easy to use in the morning on my sensitive skin just to even it out. I've been skipping makeup completely lately, since most foundation feels really heavy, etc, but I would like something to make me look more put together and polished.

Do any of you use Bare Escentuals? I've heard some good things about it, but it's just been reviews on Sephora, etc.

Thanks!

I've also heard good things, but I've never used it myself.  I've actually never tried anything like that before, so I'm not very helpful at all :P

I've been using it for years and love it!!  I like that it's easy to put on & comes in colors that exactly match my skin coloring.  Because your skin can breathe through it I don't feel horrible about not taking it off before workouts or occasionally forgetting to take my makeup off before bed.  I love that I never feel like I'm wearing make up.  I also love that it has SPF in it (it's 15 and I use a lotion with SPF as well).  Because it's a powder I have no idea how it would work if you have REALLY dry skin.  I have combination skin and live in a really dry climate and it doesn't flake up or look powdery fake on me, ever.  I would check it out at a BE or Sephora shop & have them help match up your skin tone.  They sell a sample kit as well that comes with a couple shades & all the brushes you'll need.

It has no coverage. I tried it and was highly disappointed. I went back to Sorme, which is not very easy to come by, I will personally stick with Sorme, even if it is hard to find as it gives me the coverage I want and is still light weight. This is a discription off the package

Alpha-hydroxy acids and Vitamin C stimulate cellular renewal. Moisturizing Jojoba Oil, and Avocado Oil keep skin hydrated, smooth, and dewy looking. A super antioxidant concentrate with Raspberry and Bilberry Seed help repair damaged skin for fewer noticeable lines and wrinkles.

If anyone has seen Sorme anywhere around them, let me know as the place here that carried it went out of business and I am running low.

Molly, I've never heard of that one. Where do you normally find it? What kind of product is it? (cream, powder, liquid, etc)

It is a wet/dry, you can apply with a brush for a lighter cover. I have to get it from a beauty salon or supply store.

I just started using the BE powder. I don't like wearing foundation either, I feel like powder gives me a bit of coverage without feeling heavy. I also have super dry and sensitive skin. So far BE has been great, I don't even notice it on and it covers nicely. I would recommend it, but I've never tried any of their other products.

Ive been using it since HS when my mom introduced me to it and now I cannot go back to anything else. I was bummed when they stopped making my masgara and switched to something else but everything else I still use and love and it lasts a long time. I used to have really oily skin and the other crap made me break out all the time, since I stopped using it I dont have an issue.

Thanks ladies! I think I'll give BE a try, since the Sorme sounds like it's a little tough to get ahold of - I don't even know if it's available way up here in the great white North Wink

I definitely like Bare Escentuals. I use Maybeline Fit concealer for my blemishes because I need the extra coverage sometimes. Other than that, I think Bare Escentuals is a really natural looking face makeup. Their Vintage Peach blush is the perfect color, too. Also if you want to check out their mascara, I'd highly recommend it. I've tried out many, many, mascaras and this is the first one that covers all my lashes, doesn't clump, and makes them look fuller. One of the cons is that to use the makeup you need to use their brushes. They're a little expensive, but they're made of badger hair which picks up the minerals better...or atleast that's what they tell me.

I agree with everything Meg said! I don't know if you have any actual Bare Escentuals stores near you, but they'll actually give you a complete "make-under" for free. You just go in and they'll do up your whole face so you can try the product out for a day to see if you like it!

They also did my girlfriend's entire wedding party and the moms for free a couple years ago. We purchased some makeup there since they were so great...but they even gave us little goodie bags of free product and opened the store an hour early so we'd make it to the hair salon on time. I really can't recommend their make-up or their customer service enough!

I use it and I love it!! I do, however, still use my stand-by Covergirl concealer underneath it when I have blemishes that need a little more attention. But I love how it evens out my skin tone and doesn't need to be re-applied (as long as you use the primer). I've also noticed that my skin has calmed down with break-outs since I have been using it - I think because it's lighter and more natural than what I used to use.

SKP suggested another brand of mineral make-up that she said was even better, but I can't remember what it was. I plan on trying that the next time around. Hopefully she will peek in here and share!

I like BE. I especially like the "bisque" for covering up blemishes and undereye spots. You can also use "well-rested" for under your eyes.

I love BE!  I switched probably about 3 years ago or so from regular foundations.  I was tired of applying all this make up to try and cover my red cheeks from rosacea.  I was skepitcal at first that this little powder would be enough to cover but it does the trick.  I like that I can wear it to the gym and sweat like a beast and it's not rolling down my face with my sweat.  I use their blush and eye shadows also.  I've tried the concealer but I really like boomerang from Benefit better.

Bare Escentuals is by far the best gift I've ever given myself! Take the time, find a shop, and let them pamper you. It helps so much. Once you've gotten your basics, they'll last forever. I have colors/blushes that have lasted for years and I only have to go shopping once or twice a year for some of the smaller items like mascara and primers. My vote? Yes, yes, yes!

That's amazing! I love places with great customer service :)

I don't think there are any stores near me, but I'm sure Sephora would let me try it out to see how I like it.
