Invitations

Hello everyone! Where are you all getting your wedding invitations from? Are you ordering online or going to local businesses? I'm looking for some suggestions.

Re: Invitations

  • I did a combination of Vistaprint and self made.

Self made and printed at a local shop, but I've heard great things about Wedding Paper Divas, and have used both them and Minted for inspiration.

  • I did mine on Wedding Paper Divas. It's easy too do but can be on the pricey side IMO, but if you do your HW and find lots of coupon codes and wait til a holiday you can get them for a really good price (try expired coupon codes too...I used an expired one and it still worked and I saved $60 from it!!).  A lot of times they will have "bundling" sales so if you buy your TY cards and reception cards, etc it willl save you money to do it all at once.

  • I designed mine myself in Adobe Illustrator, ordered paper from cardsandpockets.com, die-cut my monogram for the bellyband using my Cameo Silhouette and printed/assembled myself.

We used Wedding paper diva for inspiration and then had a friend create them for us.  Printed online using Catprint.
  • We're using Delphine Press.  We really liked how customizable everything is.  We also found a killer Groupon for them, so we're getting lots of upgrades we probably wouldn't have been willing to pay for otherwise.
  • I found 2 boxes of invitations on the sales table at Michael's about 18 months before our wedding. I wasn't someone who was really picky about them though. They were lovely IMO, and only cost $10 total for 100 invitations.

They were heavy cardstock with vellum overlays attached with ribbons, and matching RSVP cards.

Before you invest a lot of money in invitations, I recommend checking out the boxed sets at Joann's, Michael's and Hobby Lobby. There are some really nice ones that you can print at home on your home printer which is what I did.
