Color and Reception Theme Help

I want my wedding reception to be fun! We have I have committed to the colors Fuscia and Navy...but I cant come up with a theme. I love the Old Holllywood Theme but I feel like I chose the wrong colors! The wedding will run late into the evening and I dont know what to do...

What are some good themes? Can I do Navy and Fuscia with an Old Hollywood theme?

You don't need a theme. This isn't a birthday party or a fundraiser or gala, this is your wedding, it already has a theme and it is called "marriage". Just decorate your venue to you and your FI liking, have some amazing food, a great bar, and some kick butt music to dance to and that is all you will need.

i agree with PP. my colors were burgundy, ivory and black. no theme. we chose an italian reception hall.... so italian food. i love ratpack style music, so we played that.... and we chose upside down wine glasses as our centerpieces and a wine crate as our card box.

all in all our wedding sort of morphed into "italian food and wine" theme.....but we definitely didn't start with that intention!

find decor items you like. metal tones (silver, gold, sparkle, etc) would look great with your colors, and help the 'old hollywood' feel you enjoy/

Yep. I honestly hate theme weddings. People try to hard to stick to a theme and usually end up going way way way overboard with their "theme". You have your colors. Pick decor that you like. That's all you need.

Don't stress yourself out over picking a theme for the sake of having a theme. Stick to the colors you chose and incorporate anything you'd like into your wedding

I think as you choose decor, your "theme" (such as it is) will sort of gradually fall into place. Our colors are a palette of lots of jewel tones and my dress has a vintagey glam feel to it. Because of this, we're sort of naturally gravitating towards that, but our menus don't have little clap boards on them or anything.
