The Palm House

Has anyone had or been to a wedding at the Palm House in the Brooklyn Botanic gardens? My fiance and I love it but we have heard that the acoustics are bad and the music can be very loud because of it. We are musicians so the music is really important to us!

    It looks absolutely gorgeous, but it's VERY expensive.

    It is so unbelievably beautiful there! I went and looked at it, but haven't been to a wedding. It is pricey, mostly because the force you to invite more than 150, but that would have been my dream place if we could have spared no expense.

    it is beautiful, and like PP said not a budget venue, although you might be surprised b what kind of a deal you can work out for off-season or a morning wedding. i have been to a wedding there but the music the dj played was so terrible that i didn't dance and i can't remember the quality of the acoustics. i'm actually seeing the groom from that wedding tonight and he is a drummer so i'll ask his impressions and post the answer.

    Jane, that would be so great! Thank you very much! I think we are going to go with it and just hope we can find a great band that will make it work acoustically, but I would love to hear the groom's opinions.

    It is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!   But like everyone said, def. not a budget venue.  FH and I initially looked at it but just couldn't swing the price :-(  However, I do know that the band we booked has played there at least a few times b/c we ended up talking about the venue at our meeting.  You might want to check them out, since they have experience with the acoustics there.  They are Soul Revival and are fabulous!  www.soulrevivalband.com

    I actually looked at the place because it was my first choice for venue.  I knew it would be some money but the cost was wayyyy over budget.  Also when we went for our appointment, the manager was late and did not show us around.  He talked to us for about 10 minutes and passed us off to a photographer! 

    Needless to say we are not choosing the Palm house.  I'[m totally over it.  If you want to go make an appointment and see if you have a better experience then me.
