Banquet halls/ reception venues?!

I am so frustrated!! The venue I loved doesnt have any of the dates we've picked . So now were back to square one.I cant find any banquet halls or venues. That arent tacky inside.

Does anyone know of a good place to host a reception?
Were trying to do our food, location and liquor for about 5,000.00

So, first, I think you should look at the "stickies' (the posts stuck to the top of the boards) - they're a great resource.

Second, for anyone to help you; people need to know how many people you're looking to host, what your potential dates are (if you're not flexible, it might be difficult), if you're willing to contract a caterer separate location from the wedding site, how many people you are hosting, etc.  There are a lot of variables that go in to planning a wedding, all of which effect the venue choice!

Additionally, what areas of SE Michigan would you prefer to look in?  And what is your definition of "tacky" (if everything you have seen is tacky)?

I did look at the "stickies" at the top. And i didnt see any reception venue that we could afford.

Were going to have about 130-140 guests (so around 30.00 a person including bar)

Im looking for something that doesnt have wood paneling, decorations already on the walls, or yucky looking carpet.

Id prefer plain walls and wood or tile floors.

Im totally willing to find a cater on my own if the hall doesnt provide one. Id actually prefer to find my own catering.Smile

Our date is 9-2-12 but were flexible to any sunday thats in sept.
Were looking to keep it as close to the Sterling heights area as possible,

(utica, troy, sterling heights, romeo, shelby, madison heights, clinton twp., ect.)

Did you try looking at Enchanment by Crank's?  It's at 21 and Hayes.  Their food is really good.  I think it's a nice looking venue.

Greystone in Romeo has a sunday deal that I thought was pretty good. I don't love the carpet, but i've seen worse.

There is a place in Rochester Hills called RiverCrest for around that price range.

my sister used Vintage House. i believe it was about $30/pp. they have carpeting but the dance floor was tile or something. it was a nice location i thought.

There are LOTS of locations in that area within your price range. you need to call around and find prices. looks for places in St Claire shores. when we were looking for my sister's wedding we found a ton of places. I don't recall all the names though. i believe i did a search on the net for reception locations/banquet halls and just called every where.

    Good Luck.

This is a little west of you, but Indian Springs Metropark has a really pretty building.  And you can have the ceremony outside overlooking the pond or by a huge oak tree.
