invitations and rehearsal dinner

hi ladies. i am working out some more details now that i am passing the 5 month mark! i ordered my save the dates from vistaprint, and have read good reviews about their products of that nature. i should be receiving them by the end of the week. i am wondering though if anyone has used them for actual invitations. they have a lot of choices but i wondered if they look/feel nice enough for the main invite.

also, we are trying to figure out where to have the rehearsal dinner. any suggestions? we are having between 30-50 people (i know thats a big range but we havent decided on a couple of things for the ceremony yet and it could make a big difference).  we would like to have it on the north shore since thats where our guests will be staying, so i am already looking into hyde park steakhouse and atrias. i have contacted a bunch of the pubs that are over there and am waiting for a response, but figured you ladies would have some insight.

thanks in advance!

  • Re: rehearsal dinner: Max's Allegheny Tavern (German), Legend's North Shore, Bistro to Go (if open) and James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy are all fabulous North SIDE restaurants.

  • Also consider Modern Cafe and Monterey Pub (although later is probably too small for your group - especially if it gets up to 50!)

  • I purchased my save the dates from Vistaprint and I was overjoyed with them. For my Save the dates I had a post card, a magnet, and a business card. I also purchased a few sample invites so I can see how they will look and I am very happy with them, I will purchasing all my my paper from vistaprint.

  • You can try PNC Park for your rehearsal dinner depending on the Pirates' schedule.

  • Our vistaprint invites are absolutely beautiful, and I was so worried about them before they came in the mail. We chose the matte finish, and I felt it added a more professional feel to them. However, the envelopes are not as hardy a stock! It hasn't been a problem, but I wasn't expecting that. For rehearsal dinners, Nikki at bistro is our caterer and she works magic in that kitchen for a very affordable price. They do private parties when not open for regular hours, so give them a call. Also as silly as it may sound the Jerome Bettis grille is a really open and delicious place. The place is huge, and they adept at handling large parties. Good luck!
What a beautiful mess this is...
  • thanks everyone! our save the dates should arrive tomorrow or saturday so i am excited to see them. i think if we can find a design we like enough we will go wtih vista print. but i was concerned about the envelopes so maybe i will order those separately.

ive gotten a few recommendations for bettis grille in the past few days so we are checking into that! thanks again everyone!
