Affordable wedding cake Dayton area

Ladies,

I am on the hunt for an affordable wedding cake! Would prefer a local vendor as opposed to a big bakery. I am shocked by how expensive it is to get a wedding cake--I was quoted almost $700!

Does anyone have any recommendations? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello! I am also a Dayton bride :)

I also did not want to go with a big bakery, so we decided on a home based baker. Her "company" is called The Cake Movers, and the girls name is Courtney. Her cakes are delish, prices are great, and she doesnt charge a delivery fee.

If you talk to her, make sure to let her know that Christina sent you! (wedding May 21)

Teri with artrageous desserts (artrageousdesserts.com) is doing our cake! She has a degree in sculpting and can do amazing things with cake, plus she is very reasonably priced and her cake is delicious!! Good luck!!

Jami is WONDERFUL! Her cake is by far the best tasting i have ever had, fondant was included and very tasty. She is such a nice person as well!  Very helpful and it was 300 less than what the cakery and other places wanted for it.

I used Ele and it was amazing. We had a four layer cake (2 of which were fake) and then had sheet cakes in the back to be served to our guests. It was about $400 and that included a groomscake.

The Cakery and Belmont Bakery taste really great.  I'm not sure about their prices.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! I actually went to Christina with The Cake Weavers in Cincinnati. Ended up with my dream cake for $400 (5 tiers, feeds 176). She was great and her amaretto cake was to die for!

Cakertainment by Amy (cakertainment.com) is great too! We are going to be having a smaller wedding 75-100 people and our cake is  210 with dilvery and set up and is 3 teirs.  She makes all of her cakes from her house in Milford, OH.  We were on a tight buget and she was willing to work with us to fit it in our budget.
