Need Venue for "free"; Any ideas?

Hi,
Where do people who are still living paycheck to paycheck get married? I am determined to have my wedding in Boston, but can't spend move than a few hundred bucks on a venue.

Where/What are free venues for ceremony and/or reception? (I don't have a friend who owns a yard in Boston).

ANY ideas or tips are appreciated

My co worker got married at the Arnold Arboretum in JP. The downfall is that you can't bring chairs. But it's a free beautiful venue!

Have the wedding you can afford.

Go to the court house with your close friends and family and then go out for a nice lunch. Just as romantic and meaningful but a whole lot cheaper.

Thanks for the advice on "just going out for a nice lunch" but I want a wedding, with the people I care about there. Our marriage is about us, but our wedding is about the people we care about coming together to celebrate us and act as witnesses to our commitment. So, I need a space big enough for at least 50, and then I'm gonna host a bad-ass party after!

Ok, well if you can't afford a "bad ass party" I would think about waiting and saving until you can. Then you can provide the appropriate amount of food and drinks for your guests while still have the wedding you wanted.

Do you just mean a venue that doesn't have an extra cost associated with it like a room fee? Just one where you pay for food, etc? We got married at the Atlantica in Cohasset which is absolutely stunning. The room fee was only $200 (Friday wedding).

There is a rose garden in the fenway that I once read about a wedding at. $50 fee for weddings for residents, $100 for non-residents. Lots of nearby restaurants to go afterwards--just make sure not to book on a Red Sox weekend!
