I just wanted to share that I am so excited to go on my first dress shopping trip tomorrow! I've been watching a lot of SYTTD and I'm going with a big group (mom, stepmom, and 5 bridesmaids, yikes), so it scares me a little. BUT, I know what I want and they know me pretty well, so I oftentimes hear them say, "That is so you."

)
On another note, since I had booked my appointment well in advance, I contemplated inviting my FMIL for a long time...up until recently.
We haven't had the best relationship, and if you know anything about Filipinos, then you know they demand a certain amount of respect and anything you do/say/don't say that offends them is considered disrespectful.
Ahh, I want to vent so badly, but there's just too much...really.
I consulted with both my mom and stepmom and they both told me I didn't have to invite her if I didn't want to, especially if it would make me feel uncomfortable. I'm glad that they understand where I'm coming from. Both my mom and SM are younger than my FMIL, so they understand the generational differences and I'm glad they do! After talking with them I don't feel so obligated to have her around.
It's so unfortunate and I wish I had a better relationship with my FMIL, but I'm not the only one. Her partner and my FBIL both have strained and dysfunctional relationships with her.
Sorry for being such a downer. I know this is supposed to be a happy time, so I'll leave with this: DRESS SHOPPING TOMORROW!

Dress I want: lace trumpet dress with sweetheart neckline, chapel or no train. Birdcage veil for the windy Olowalu venue...but, I am definitely keeping my options open! Who knows, I might find a completely different style that I fall in love with...
