XP: Adobe Illustrator Question

So I am making my inserts for my pocket invites (they are very simple, basically just text, no graphics).

I made them using adobe illustrator CS5, and I have one "artboard" that just has a text box. My inserts are sized pretty small and my question is how do I format my file to print 4 per page (or 3 or 2 per page depending on the size of my artboard).

Thanks in advance!

Re: XP: Adobe Illustrator Question

  • I'll help - I am starting my own Etsy business (which I'll never post on here, but if anyone's curious, feel free to PM me and I'll send you the link).  But I'm happy to help you out (for free, obviously)!

I'll PM you my email address - to be honest, it'll be much quicker (like 30 seconds worth of work) for me to do it rather than explain it (like 10 minutes).  That is one complicated program!

  • If you really wanted to try it yourself, the best short description I can give is to alter the art board to be exactly the size of paper you want to print, then click and drag the black arrow to surround all your design, then copy and paste and arrange it on the artboard.  Then you click "save for web design" and save as a JPEG at the highest resolution.  Alternatively, you could save as PDF and just pull the drop down menu to "Highest Print Quality" and click the button for bleed & crop marks.
