Hi Everyone,
I'm getting married in South Austin in May and I'm looking for some budget friendly recommendations for a caterer, a florist, and a hairdresser. I'm not from Austin so I'm kind of lost at where to start looking.
 As far as catering goes my fiancé and I just want a more casual meal, something along the lines of a fajita buffet.   My venue director suggested Kenny's Coffee Company. I looked at their website but there were little to no reviews on their catering services. Has anyone heard anything about this company or another that might offer something similar at a non-outrageous price?  Any recommendations you might have would be greatly appreciated.

    Catering prices can vary tremendously depending on menu and caterer. What is your budget? "Non-outrageous" is subjective....that may mean $20 to one person then $50 to another.

    I've heard of Kenny's and tried some of their food at a wedding show earlier this year and it was ok- not great but not bad either.

    Agree with Sheaday - budgets are subjective!  That being said, you can do lots of searches on this board for those things you need guidance/direction on, such as florist, makeup, etc.  Different posters have had different experiences with the same vendor, so just keep that in mind. Also check out www.austinweddingblog.com for some comprehensive lists of vendors and their websites. It takes some reading and you'll probably need to contact vendors directly to get better ideas of their prices/responsiveness, but it's a start.

    For fajitas/Mexican buffet, some that have been recommended on this board include Pappas Catering, Curra's, Chuy's, Taco Cabana, Matt's El Rancho, Iron Cactus. Southern's Fine Dining, Pink Avocado, Exquisite Catering...

    Florists: Bouquet's of Austin, Last Petal, Central Market's floral departments, Glass Fountain, Rosehip Flora, Petal Pushers, Exquisite Petals, Verbena....

    Although I didn't use them for my wedding, I have heard Courtney's Catering and Dagar's offer reasonable rates.  I would contact several caterers with your budget, and see what they could offer for the price.
