Poll: Grooms Cake

What is the cake going to be of?
When are you giving it to FI?
Is it a suprise?

Couldn't vote because I'm not actually giving it to fi and it's not really a suprise.

We didn't really know much about grooms cake and decided against it but then FMIL told us that if it was okay with us she was going to make mini heart brownies and package a few of them in these little boxes for our guests as our grooms cake.

I think it is a cute idea. It seems like a favor to me but we are not calling it that since we are doing other favors.

I would like to do it so that it could be customized with one of FI's hobbies, but it just seems like a waste to me.  We'll have plenty of wedding cake and the candy bar.

FI loves Costco's desserts so I think we'll go with that for the RD!

Since I bought that coupn from Kelli I can get $100 worth of cake for $50 so I was thinking about doing a fun one for FI and suprise him with it at the RD. He is a hunter so I was wither thinking that or we could always use the cougar logo.

My friend had a groom's cake at her wedding reception - it was seahawks related since her FI is a big football fan.  I would love to give one to my FI - but i think i'm going to do it at the rehearsal dinner.  I'm still trying to figure out what it's going to be -but since FI is a big Broncos fan (he's from Colorado) it may be something related to that.

I'm getting one from Kelli and like Trisha will be surprising him with it at the RD.  FI's into sportbike riding so I'm going to have one made to look like his helmet.

FIe thinks having a groom's cake implies that the wedding cake is the "bride's cake". Problem solved!

Though somehow I think our birthday cakes this year will involve hilarious ace-of-cakes style themes... mwahahahaha :)

Like others, I'm thinking of having a "groom's cake" at the RD.  FI and I have very different tastes in desserts.  I'm thinking of having some sort of cake or desserts in flavors he loves (peanut butter/chocolate combo for example).

What is the cake going to be of? Dragon When are you giving it to FI? Wedding day Is it a suprise? Yup It was DH's favorite part of the wedding. He now has a picture of it up at work on his desk. It was a big conversation peice at the wedding too and a lot of people remember it. He had enver heard of a groom's cake before. It was part of his wedding gift, he probably wouldn't have gotten one other wise.

What is the cake going to be of? A chocolate fudge cake from QFC, I know it seems silly but it is his all time favorite cake. I am having them make me a square one, so it will go with our wedding cake.
When are you giving it to FI? At the wedding reception.
    Is it a suprise? Yep.

I'm going to buy some pies because he LOVES pie, and we'll eat that for dessert after the welcome dinner.  :)

I want to get him a groom's cake, but I don't know how he feels about it other than that it will be a lot of cake. We've talked about it a little bit and the current ideas on the board are:

    * A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (Michaelangelo) getting married to a My Little Pony.
    * 'Him' snowboarding down a mountain in a tux with 'me' head first, legs up stuck in the snow behind him.

We also figure this would be a great chance to incorporate a non-chocolate flavor into our cakes, since we both loved chocolate praline crunch at Creme de la Creme so much and we're not so sure on the non-chocolate flavors there, but not everyone likes chocolate. And not everyone can eat nuts. XD
