Wedding coordinators - Hotel Mazarin

I'm an OOT bride looking to get married at Hotel Mazarin next spring, and because they do not provide a day-of coordinator, I am debating whether to go for a full-fledge wedding planner or just get a DOC.  Any recommendations of any particularly helpful coordinators for either option?  Ideally, if they have experience with Hotel Mazarin, that would be best for the DOC, but if we go with more of a long-term wedding planner, anyone familiar with New Orleans would be fine.

Not sure what to expect as far as price, and because I'm definitely the planner personality, I don't know if it would be worth it to pay for a full wedding planner or just do that part myself.  Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

    Most of the full wedding planning packages start around $3,000 and go up to 10% of the price of your wedding.  The day of coordinators vary in price from $1-2k. 

    I personally opted to hire Carolyn Arthurs at All About Events for her management & consulting package.  She handled all of my month of details, but it also enabled me to ask her any questions about vendors, etiquette issues or general logistical questions.

    Whatever you choose, just make sure you are clear about your expectations for them.  Some coordinators just see their job as supervising other vendors.  Others will help you do things the day of.  All of their packages really differ.  So just make sure you know what you are paying for.

    We also used Carolyn and went with her management package. If you've got a handle on what you want, I don't think a full planner is really necessary, IMO.

    Elyse Skansi with Tying the Knots was excellent for us.  She received & stores all our packages, provided so much local info and help along the way.  She also saved the day when my florist bailed 3 hours before the wedding.

    Thanks everyone!  Can't imagine what I would have done if my florist bailed 3 hours before my wedding, but glad the coordinators were helpful!  Just getting started with this whole wedding planning thing, but hiring someone for the day of and perhaps the month of just to close the ties and help finalize everything sounds like it would be very helpful.
