Too 'out there' for first dance?

My FH and I were considering Your Guardian Angel by RJA for out first dance, but my mother seems to think its inappropriate and not suited for a first dance. Do you agree? Should we stick with it or switch to something more traditional?

Your first dance can be whatever you want it to be. If this is the song you both feel that expresses your feelings to one another then by all means use it.
