So the ax came down...

On 30 people at work today.  17 came from my dept.  Layoffs are a bitch. 

I knew a LOT of people personally that were let go. 

I'm glad to have my job (for now), but I don't know if the pit in my stomach is going to go away anytime soon.

    Ouch.  I hate that feeling. 

    There is about to be a mass exodus from my company, it's all voluntary though.

    I pray that this stuff doesn't keep continuing on the future - it puts everyone at wits end, and hair tearing out moments!

    Isn't that the worst feeling?  The first company I worked for had a round of mass layoffs one morning--one after another in alphabetical order, including my BFF.  Our entire department went to lunch that day, both the still-employed and the newly-unemployed.  Very awkward for those of us leaving to go back to work afterward.
