Katy wedding & reception sites?

I'm trying to stay in the Katy area or at least west Houston. Not wanting to spend more than 2500 for venue. Any ideas? All I can seem to find are country clubs.

$2,500 for the rental fee, or $2,500 total budget (food, rental, alcohol, etc.) How many guests do you expect?

Look into the Tuscany Villa.  They're pretty much all-inclusive and really affordable.

Agave Road is similar in price.  It's a little more expensive, but it's also a little prettier in my opinion.

Other places that are not country clubs to consider:
    - Briscoe Manor (a bit pricey)
    - Brookwood Community (unique and just getting into the wedding business)

2,500 just for the venue. I'd prefer a DIY type venue and bring in everything on my own. We're trying to keep a total budget of everything about 7k.  We're looking to have a small wedding of about 50-60. I think I'm not being too picky as we're sure for that price we'll have to do it on a Friday or in an "off-season" month and I'm okay with that. I really hate when people are picky on other peoples suggestions, so I apologize.

Tuscany Villa- Packages stary around 15k

Agave Road- Packages start around 12k for 100 people and they won't let you prorate it by the nunber of guests.

Briscoe Manor- It's very pretty, but falls into the same category as above

Brookwood Community-  I'll look into this. I really don't envision myself getting married in a church, but maybe they have outdoor areas as well.

Thank you ladies for your suggestions. If anyone has ANY ideas please share. I'm not opposed to places that aren't typical wedding industry venues such as ranches, farms or B&Bs, inns, etc. thank you!

This is all stuff that you should have specified before.

And piece-mealing everything together may well cost you more in the long run.   Tuscany Villa quoted me 11K for 125 people, and that includes food, full open bar, linens, ceremony space, and everything.  And I know that it would be cheaper for fewer people.  I talked to the owner for a long time, even though I didn't end up booking there.

It sounds like your best bet will be to do it at a private residence.  Have you looked into renting a vacation home or something?

I've been to a few weddings at the Houston Farm and Ranch club, off hwy 6.  They were nice, and it didn't look like it would be too expensive - but I have no idea about the price range of the banquet facility

Thank you, Elle1036, I'm going to give them a call on Monday. Hopefully they have options in my range or can work something out. I've been looking into rentals as well as bed and breakfasts without a lot of luck so far. Veggienat, thanks to you also! Neither my FI or I currently live in Houston. We will be there in 2 weeks and hoping to have places narrowed down to view.

Just out of curiosity, why are you having the wedding in Katy?  Do you have family here or something?  I'm just wondering.

I am from San Antonio and FI is from Houston. We live 2.5hrs north of Houston for college currently. Houston seemed like the neutral spot. That's why I'd prefer it in Katy/west Houston. If there was something else centrally in Houston we could afford(non-banquet halls) I'd definitely be open. The Gardens of Bammel Lane seem to be the high end of our venue budget and we have an appt with them so far.

edit: I still can't seem to get my info under my screen name to change. I've changed my profile information several times. Ive never lived in Dallas.

Do you guys go to A&M?

I have no idea how to change your display city.  I'm not sure it's possible.  I've seen other girls ask about it, too.

Nope, we both go to SFA.
