Intro and question about finding a dress

First of all, hello there! I'm Sarah.
Secondly, I'm actually planning my wedding in Tennessee, which is where I'm originally from, but I'm living in the Phoenix area right now. I'm not quite sure yet what direction we're gonna go in for the theme, I just know it's gonna be blue. :D

Anyway, the question I have is...where did you get your wedding dress? What places would you recommend? I'm looking for a dress at about $800 or less. I sort of like a princess-y look, but I'm not sure if that can be achieved with my budget.
I would prefer venues recs in the central Phoenix area, or perhaps more toward Glendale.
If you got your dress at a fancier place, if the venue had great customer service or a great selection, please let me know. I'd like to start looking in the next two or three months. TIA!

    Welcome!
David's Bridal is always an option.
I got my dress at Priscilla of Boston in Scottsdale. They often have great sales and have dresses starting at $500 or so during the sale. They have many princessy options :-)

You can always keep an eye on the local craigslist listings, or even the classified boards here, if you want to get more for your budget.

There are a TON of brides that end up with a dress that they don't wear, or don't plan to wear, and are selling new with tags on still.  You really can find some amazing deals that way.

I got one of my dresses pre-owned, and one new from David's Bridal...  both for under your dress budget total.  They're both very much princess gowns.  LOL

I got my dress at Suzanne's in Gilbert, obviously not glendale, but they were super sweet. I also had a great experience at I Do I Do, and they seem to have a wide variety of prices :)

I got mine at Almond Tree Wedding Boutique on Cave Creek and the 101.  They are a consignment store and the owners Pam & Pam are great.  My dress was a Casablanca Bridal dress and it was new.  So, not all of them are used.  They get many dresses from 2-dress brides or stores that go out of biz.  You need an appointment but I would check it out!  My dress was $425 and with tax I was out the door for $460.

I got my dress at Azteca in downtown Phoenix.  I got a fantastic deal and it's more of a 'ballgown' (not quite ballgown but definitely more than a simple a-line).  I also spent right around $800 with taxes, a gown bag, etc.  They're customer service is so-so (which a lot of brides who have been there also say) when you're trying on gowns, however since I purchased my dress they have been incredible nice and the service is greatl.  I'm happy with my decision.

As someone who is planning from another city, I thought I would ask if you have explored the idea of purchasing a gown in TN?  Logistically it was easier for me so I don't have to ship, transport, etc a huge gown.  Just a thought :)  Good luck!

I found mine at Suzanne's Bridal in Gilbert.  I have LOVED working with them....they seem to have a great variety, and will work within whatever limits you have!

I had a fantastic experience at Almond Tree but ended up purchasing at Suzanne's Bridal.  I recommend both.

My dress was only $575 new, and I received a 10% discount for paying in full upfront.  I don't feel like I settled at all!  Rather, I bought my dream dress and was then pleasantly surprised by the price.  :)

Mine is from Arizona Bridal and Formal in Mesa. I paid more than $800 for mine, but I they probably have some that would be in your budget.

I found my dress at Suzanne's in Gilbert as well.  I was very pleased with the service there.  It was personalized just enough (I don't really care for 3 salespeople staring at me while I look in the mirror), and the price was just right!  My dress was around $520 after taxes and it's perfect!  It's not a princess gown, but they have a good selection.  I recommend you check them out, even though it's in Gilbert (I live in N.Phx, so it's a hike for me too).
