Would I be "unprofessional" to fill in the RSVP with the number of people attending?  In other words, if we have invited a friend and we know he has a significant other.  Before mailing the RSVP, write the number "we" are inviting on the line for persons attending.

I ask this because we have been running into a lot of issues with people inviting their girlfriends sister, the neighbor, and the such.

Just curious what you guys think!

    I don't see a problem with it.  I did something similar for my first wedding.  I don't remember what wording I used but I did fill in the number of people who were invited so the definitely got the message.

    That is exactly what I did...

    I put:
    _____ accepts with pleasure
               ____ of ____ will attend

    _____ respectfully declines

    So far, out of my 70-something responses, we have not had 1 person add on a guest or question how many people they're invited with.

    That's what I am doing...but thats because my family can sometimes be tacky and feel as though they should bring 5 people to places where 2 are invited lol

    We aren't doing it but I think it's perfectly fine.

    We filled in the number of guests invited too and never had any issues with people putting in a different number of people asking if they can invite more people.
