NOLA summer heat wedding attire???

I am having a French Quarter Patio wedding in June and am having trouble with guest attire.  I want everyone to be comfortable in the heat, but to look nice too.  The recepction is on the patio also.  We do have fans and it is at night.  Any suggestions?

Don't sweat it (no pun intended).  People will dress appropriately for the occasion and the weather.  If they don't, it's their problem.  Unless you're having a black tie affair, there's no need to specify guest attire, in fact this is something I've never seen.  Even the out of towners will know what the forecast is thanks to weather apps on their smart phones.

Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

If you want to specify maybe just put it on your wedding website! Just put something like dressy casual or some other term to let them know they dont have to be in a tux but you would like them to look dressed up!

linen is light weight and can be dressy, so you can recommend that.

I posted dress attaire on our wedding website and have been spreading the word among family memebers and bridesmaid. The best term I found was "Garden Party Attaire Requested."
