Maui Brides - Who did you use for Hair & Makeup?

Ladies,

I am still trying to decide who I want for hair & makeup. My WC is very against me booking Dan & Jessica and is really pushing Pam from the four seasons but she is $650 plus trave for pre-trial & wedding day which seems really expensive to me given that I live in NYC and could go to a top salon/spa here and pay less than that.

Who did you use? What type of style and makeup did you have? What was the cost and were you happy with the results?

Any advice/help/recommendations is greatly welcomed!

    Wow. Why is your WC so against Dan and Jessica? I haven't heard anything but good things about them.

    I actually have no idea who is doing mine. I'm not too concerned, I know the WC booked someone competent, and well, that's why we have trials. If it's really that bad, I'll fire them and go with someone at the hotel's spa/salon.

    My WC likes Jessica quite a bit but she thinks Dan is unprofessional and I guess some of her brides have had issues with him in the past. She doesn't see the point of hiring Jessica when I could get someone else to do both hair & makeup. My FI liked the groom's service that Jessica offers and it is reasonably priced but my WC was like well Pam does that too which she does but it is about $40 more. I know knotties who had my WC and used Dan/Jessica and just booked them separately but I am getting lots of pressure to use somebody else.

    I have Dan and Jessica booked. Doing a vintage look. I went with them based on reviews and I liked what I saw of their work.

    I'm doing my trial with Dan and Jessica Friday the 23rd. I can give you my thoughts about their services. Just a note, I had spoken to Dan on my own and he did NOT want to deal with Lori (she was my coordinator but we parted ways for many reasons)...didn't get into details but there may be a personal thing between them. I thought he was the one who did her hair for her wedding...weird right???

    Anyways, go with who you like the most and who you feel comfortable with. Its your day girl :) I personally loved the attention I got from Dan, he is very sweet and seems to be all about the bride. I will give more info when I get back :)

    I used Dan & Jessica and I would never use anyone else.  Jessica is super sweet and is AMAZING at what she does.  I have never looked better than I did on my wedding day, her makeup was just amazing!  She did air-brush on all of us, and my husband did the Groom's package which I would definitely recommend.  He looks flawless in all of our pictures, and you would never be able to tell he had anything on. 

    Dan is awesome too! I actually liked him so much that I had him cut my hair a few days after the wedding.  I did a hair trial with him and he is an artist, he did 5 different styles in about 20 minutes and I loved every one of them.  He was on time and was just a ton of fun on our wedding day, we all loved him! 

    I'm not sure why your coordinator has issues with them, but it sounds like she is getting something out of pushing the other lady so hard.  I booked Dan and Jessica myself before I even had a coordinator and my coordinator did not have any issues working with them at all.

    I used Dan and Jess too. I know Tanq had some issues with Dan, so, you know, he's not perfect. FWIW, Jess is worth every penny. She was amazing. Don't let yourself get pushed around!

    My wedding coordinator hired Jeane Muldoon for me.  I think she did a great job and was very nice.

    Dont use sisters and co. I requested a very simple curl and light make up and the gal put my makeup on horrible and my hair was not curled at all. it was awful. But I loved my wedding day <3
