Candy Buffet... DIY or hire someone??

There is a company in CLT that will do your candy buffet for you. It's around $430 for the amount of guests we have. They have an attendant that helps people, they provide the little baggies -and they personalize them too... also set-up, clean-up, etc.

So- for any of you that have done a candy buffet, at this price, guest count looking to be 75, should I hire them or would it save me a lot to DIY??

All you can Treat is in CLT and I think we are paying $350 for 125 guests.

Do you mean $530? Bc on their website they have 101-150 people for $530.

That is the company I am talking about. Just wondering if it would be easier on our budget to DIY...

As a bride who was on a budget and did a lot of DIY, I would say just DIY this.  You can get great prices on bags of candy at places like Oriental Trading Company. If you want to personalize the bags, you can do that in advance then have them on their table setting when they sit down. or maybe the bag could have their seating assignment inside with a small paper saying the best way to use the candy buffet.

I think you have a great opportunity to make this a personal little thing for your guests,  but that is just me.  Good luck!

I'm not doing a candy buffet but it would probably be cheaper if you DIYed it.

I guess I booked them before their price increased.

I was going to do a candy buffet, but decided at the last second I am not creative enough to design one I would be happy with, and I couldn't afford to hire someone to do it for me.  That said, it is cheaper to DIY but START EARLY with a plan.  Figure out what kind of candy you want and find containers.  I think I waited too long and just got overwhelmed!

I would say DIY, I had more people, and my buffet cost me less, I had 8 different kinds of candy. I really enjoyed putting together our candy buffet, and decorating all the jars, etc. And we didn't really need an attendant, I think everyone pretty much knows how to fill a candy bag. I also had our buffet set up on a high counter though, so no kids could reach it.

Def DIY!  A bride at a wedding I went to had a DIY candy bar.  She rented the large glass jars from a party rental place, got the cellophane bags off ebay and bought all the candy herself.  If you are getting married in Oct all the stores will have halloween candy so you should be able to get a great deal on candy Smile

I say DIY it, especailly at that price and your amont of guests. You can always borrow vases and jars, or look at places like TJ Maxx for deals (that you can always reuse in your home)

the bags dont have to be anything fancy, or personalized, no one will really notice that anyway, and if some people dont take them those bags can go to waste. or they end up in the trash eventually.
