Cost

Hello,

I am trying to make a realistic budget for our wedding so that I am not caught by surprise later. With the venue alone, after adding all the little extras we have gone up 5,000 bucks! So I snooped some florist's websites to get an idea of cost but none of them have estimates. I know it will vary on what I want but can any of you give my prices on what you paid or are paying?

Oh and I want Dark red roses. Lots of them! Probably no other flower in the wedding.

Thanks!!!

We're looking at flowers right now and so far this is what i've been quoted:

MOH bouquet - $60 for small bouquet of hydrangeas

    5 corsages w/ roses - $35-$45 each

    Cake flowers (hydrangeas) $35

Tthat's all i'm looking at buying right now b/c my venue provides my bouquet, rose walkway, and FI's bout'.  We may still do a sweetheart centerpiece, but not sure.  I also decided to do DIY fake pom balls (also hydrangeas) for the flower girls.
    Good luck!

Take your entire wedding budget and figure you will spend about 10% of that on flowers.  Of course this percentage is just an estimate...you could spend a heck of a lot more or a lot less, but this will kind of give you an idea.

I did my first floral consult and we are spending about 2500. My flowers are the dark roses and calla lillies for my bouquet.

    $270-bridal bouquet(1 for portraits, 1 for day-of)
    $65-bridesmaids
    $135- 7 tall centerpieces
    $65-7 short centerpieces
    about 10 corsages/bouts
    Delivery & taxes

Again, I opted for no ceremony flowers... they would've run about 250 for each alter piece.  I'm also having a Feb wedding so I'm paying Valentine's prices.

I'm having jewel-toned flowers: green and white cymbidium orchids, purple and orange mokara orchids, yellow oncidium orchids, green celosia, purple lisianthus, red gloriosa lilies, and coral garden roses.  All bouquets and bouts are to be wrapped in apple green wire.

    My bouquet: 180
    bridesmaids: 60 each
    bouts: 12 each
centerpieces: 80 each (breakaway bud vases, one per guest, clustered)
    cake flowers: 35
    delivery/setup: 100

As of right now, we're up to about $1475 or so... I'm very happy with that considering how many orchids we're using and the quality that this florist provides. :)  Sample workup of my bouquet (a few changes have been made) is attached.

If all your doing is dark roses I so would order them off of Samsclub.com or fiftyflowers.com and put them together yourself for a fraction of the cost

Yeah, I agree with PP, if you are only doing the one type of flower, it should be fairly easy (and way cheaper) to just put them together yourself, that is if you are a do-it-yourself-er. We bought roses from Sam's Club online and they were awesome!
