Charles River Museum of Industry

Has anyone hosted a wedding here? I'm very interested in the space but can't get in touch wih anyone. I would love to hear about your experience there. Or if anyone has any knowledge of the rental price range and policies specifically how late a reception can last that would be wonderful. Thanks!

Re: Charles River Museum of Industry

  • I've been trying to get in touch with that place for weeks with no luck! I'm glad you posted this!
  • It took me about 4 weeks to get in touch with anyone there. I literally called every other day and sent emails and finally heard back 4 weeks later. The rental price is: $2400 for Friday - Sunday evenings and you need to bring in everything: caterers, tables, beverages, bartenders, chairs. It's a gorgeous space but it was very expensive to me and having had such a hard time getting info, I was nervous what it would be like come the days leading up to the wedding.

The other hilarious yet somewhat annoying part was that after sending me the info, Christine (the event planner) responded to another one of my emails a few weeks later as if we hadn't spoken at all.

I have all of the info on the place (price list, perferred vendors, etc). If you would like me to email it to you, I'd be more than happy to. My email is: bostoncheer@live.com

  • In Response to Charles River Museum of Industry:

I just put down a deposit for this venue, though, I admit, we are having it on a Monday which puts the price at $1400 (weekdays 9-5 are $1000). I can see how it could be expensive since relying on the caterer is so important, but honestly for my fiance and I, it is the perfect venue: we are having a Steampunk wedding, had one of our first dates there, and go to the festivals every year.

I emailed Christine and received a response within the week. I will say that the CRMII does not specialize in weddings, so what you are renting is the space--the whole museum--for your event. They do have a full kitchen and tables as well as a stage and podium, projector, and amazing photo ops.

I also have all of their information and am willing to share.
