Luxor?? From out of town, need locals advice!!!

Hi folks,

I am from Florida, my fiance and I are planning a wedding in las vegas.  Cost is a consideration but we want to make sure everyone is comfortable.  I haven't been to las vegas in about 5 years but have been there many times before.  We decided on luxor since I've never stayed there and always wanted to, but I have read some dismal reviews (and some rave ones).  Can anyone give me their own input? Are the rooms nice, what is the chapel like? Thanks in advance :)

Not a local, and no info on the Chapel, but the pyramid rooms are a little outdated. I think that they had some clear design issues with the pyramid since we came across quite a few paces in the pyramid that had leaks, in our room and throughout the hallways. But, from what I hear, the tower rooms are quite nice. The casino is fine, the buffet is really good, and they have the LAX club there which is a lot of fun. Congrats and good luck with your planning! Ask away, us girls are pretty nice :)

The Chapel is literally in the food court. The hotel is not the best but everything else is good. One knottiest just gave Luxor a bad review.

If you stay in the Tower Rooms, it's a decent price for a decent room.  No info on the chapel, though!

I love the salon there.  That's were I'm getting my hair done for my wedding.  I got my hair done there for my friend's wddding and LOVED it.  The tower rooms, eh.  Less than desirable IMO.  I would spring the extra $20 a night if you can and upgrdae to a hotel at City Center (Vdara or Aria).  The luxor was just a wee bit far from our favorite spots too.  The Pool is fun there though!

    Ditto lsvensson
I've stayed in the Tower room and it was really reasonable, like $50, might even be cheaper mid week and room was great! Spacious, clean and I had a great view! No chapel info though :-(

Bunny Bride I do have a friend who's sister got married there...I can ask if she has any photos of the chapel.  She did say it was in much better taste than the Luxor Hotel/Casino part and that the staff was wonderful.  They had a small in-suite reception there.  PM me your email if you want pics.

Luxor is one of FI & my favorite hotels. The beds are comfy, I can't hear foot traffic outside the room (Monte Carlo sounded like people were having a party in my bathroom. Woke me at 8am every morning), it's close to some of my favorite restaurants (Burger Bar, TnT), and blackjack usually loves me there.

It is one of the older hotels. Some of the rooms arn't in the greatest condition (I've never had any room problems in the dozen or so times I've stayed) The spa suite is nice 'cause it's right under the window (watch your head if your tall) and it has a mini-fridge (empty) and living room. The tower room (basic king) has a huge tub and separate shower. Pyramid room (basic king) is your average hotel room, the slanty ceiling does make some people feel claustrophobic.

I have no info on the chapel except its on the second floor near the food court and the Titanic exhibit & Bodies exhibit.

I definitely recommend tripadvisor.com if you're curious about the rooms.  The reviews are *usually* helpful, and there are user photos if you click the top right side of any hotel's main review page.  I like being able to see "accurate" room photos :)

DONT DO IT!!!!  I stayed there for my wedding last Saturday and I got one of their best suites and it was nothing like described! The customer services was bad, the hotel sucked and the rooms were very out dated.

Another of my groomsmen stayed there too and they had a hole in their wall.

I would stay at Motel 6 before I stayed at the Luxor again!
