No Flower girl...but still want flowers down the aisle...

We are not having a flower girl or ring bearer due to so many options and not wanting any feelings to be hurt.  With that said, I still would really love to have flowers down the aisle for when I walk down. Any ideas on how to accomplish this without them getting messed up from guests walking to their seats? We are getting married in a church.

  • You could have the ushers sprinkle them after the guests are seated.  Or even before... they won't get trampled beyond recognition by people walking on them and will probably be fine.

Alternatively, the bridesmaids (or just the first BM) could drop them, if they're okay with that.

Be sure to check with your venue if you can use real petals or not. We sprinkled our fake leaves the night before after the rehearsal. It's also something you can do an hour before (takes like 3 minutes). If you have ushers, just have them escort people to walk on the outside of the pews. If you don't have ushers, just have a ribbon or fabric blocking off te beginning of the aisle so people know not to step on it. Some body can remove it before the processional begins.

  • I had the same issue but we are roping off the aisle so people will have to go around.  The rope/ribbon will be removed before the wedding starts.

  • I've seen several options on pinterest that have the petals creating designs down the aisle before the ceremony begins. You would need guests to enter from the side, but that seem like it could be even more special since the center is then reserved for your wedding party.
  • I went to a wedding where the bride's sister dropped the petals instead of a flower girl. It was a little weird because she was in a really short white dress and I think was kind of considered a flower girl, but you could have a BM do it. Otherwise I like the idea of doing it beforehand and having the guests enter from the side if that's an option at your venue.
