Reception Venue Ideas Needed

Hello!  I am trying to find a reception venue.  I have looked at several hotels in the Towson/Timonium area and am not sure I "love" what I have found.  We found one we think we like however I have this feeling there is a venue that's perfect and I can't seem to find it.  We prefer not to be downtown or in Baltimore City and we are looking for a venue that has a blank enough "canvas" so that we can "beach-ify" it for our beach themed wedding reception.  The country clubs in the area start around $100+/person and that is outside of our price range.  Anything less than that is interesting for us.

Does anyone have any suggestions of venues for a reception?  Thank you - Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the post below this one-knottie reception list or something like that. It has a bunch of places listed. GL!

What about the Eastern Yacht Club?  I've heard good things about it and it's not outrageously expensive.  It's on the water so it would definitely work for your beach theme.

The other ones that I can think of may be too far for you---like Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa or Herrington on the Bay.

Kurtz Beach in Pasadena.  I attended a wedding there, beach theme, it was very nice.  I hear they have good prices.

I was going to suggest Eastern Yacht Club.  I'm a little biased because I got married there but it's an awesome venue.  It's right on the bay and the facilities are perfect if you're going for that blank cavas look.

With EYC you can bring in your own caterer so the price per person is really up to you.  We used Premier Catering and were really happy with everyone we worked with.

A friend of mine got married at North Point State Park- it's outside and there is an actual beach there...it was a fun and more casual affair but you could dress it up for a more formal yet outdoor beachy wedding.

I am going to second Kurtz's.  We got married there and at first, I wasn't so thrilled, but once we went back a few times, it can be beachy (on the water) and the prices were really reasonable compared to some other "on the water" places.

I'll talk up my venue, Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. I loved the fact that it was all included. A little out of the way of towson but for the price i couldn't beat it! And we are also doing a beachy themed wedding.

Someone I know got married at Kurtz Beach a few years and said she loved it there. Another friend of mine is getting married at Peerces Landing in Towson this year. Its by the water and so far she loves the venue and the people she's been talking with to organize everything.

If you wanted to stay in Towson, we looked at the Valley Country Club right in Towson and I really liked it.  It kind of has that "blank slate" inside

Thank you all for your input!  We have narrowed it down and are trying to decide between 2 places...the Eastern and Western shore of MD.  Hope you all have a great week!!!
