Unity idea and advice from the married ladies

Good morning ladies,

I went to a lovely wedding this weekend and saw a really cool unity idea.  I know we had a thread not to long ago about ideas outside of the candle and sand.  The Bride is an avid gardner so they actually grew a plant, then they both watered it after the vows.  I thought that was really neat and symbolizes that growth of a marriage.

I'm also just curious to hear from the married ladies if you have any advice for those of us with upcoming weddings advice for our days you wouldn't think of.

Thanks!

Our JP performs many Jewish weddings and an idea that he shared with us considering our reception venue was at a vineyard was to do a wine ceremony however having a white wine to represent the bride, a red for the groom and pouring each wine in a single glass to create our own wine as a symbol of our unique relationship and drinking from the single glass.

We had a small(er) wedding, and during the ceremony, we passed around our rings in a small holder so that everyone could touch them and "bless" them or make a wish for us before we used them to exchange our vows.  We had the JP explain what we were doing prior to just sending them through the aisles.  :)  Pics in bio.  It really tied us all together that day and meant a lot to DH and I to have that kind of energy and participation by the crowd.
