Need venue help! Wolfboro Inn or Granite Rose??

We can't decide between the Wolfboro Inn or Granite Rose. We like the WI because it really has that NH feel and had character but am nervous about having my wedding in a tent and also in a bit of a smaller space. We like the GR because it's everything you could want in a banquet facility but lacks the charm that I love about NH. Any thoughts? Anyone get married at either one? We're looking at end of sept of next year and I just want to pick a place so we can start planning already :) Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

I got married at the Granite Rose and it was the best decision I ever made! The venue was amazing (The Terrace Room) and all of my guests loved it!! I cannot say enough amazing things about it but I would recommend it 150%! You will not be disappointed! ALl of my guests said it was the best wedding ever...food, decor, atmosphere!

I personally don't like the granite rose. I have attended a wedding and a few functions for work there and I don't like the two weddings/functions at a time with a joint bathroom. During the couples ceremony, you could hear the other room partying and it was really awkward. I've never been to WI so I'm no help there but that's just my opinion about GR, while others on here love it.

I am getting married at the Granite Rose this Saturday! :)  They have been great to work with.  We are having a morning wedding and we will be the only wedding taking place. We are getting married in their Embassy Garden with the reception in the Embassy Room, but they said if it rained they would set up the Terrace Room like a chapel for us so our guests wouldn't have to sit at their tables to see our ceremony. They are even letting our guys use the Terrace Room bridal suite to get ready in!Anything I have needed or wanted they have worked with me on. I did a lot of DIY stff for my wedding and they are having me bring it all up on Thursday, the night of my rehearsal and they are setting it all up for me.  I don't have to worry about a thing! I feel so calm and comfortable about the wedding and it is 5 days away, but Erin and Nancy have been so professional that I really am not stressed at all.  I have been very happy about my choice.

I've been to events at both and LOVE the charm of the lake right by the Wolfeboro Inn.  There was a little rain the night before and the tent did its job -everything went well.  Plus guests can stay at the Inn or several nearby hotels.  There's also a lot for people to do if they're coming from out of town.

I am having my wedding at the Wolfeboro Inn next May. I am a picky and controlling bride and Paula at the Wolfeboro Inn has been fantastic! I have been there a couple of times when weddings are going on and they seemed to have gone off without a hitch!

I had my wedding at GR in June and was very happy with the venue and how things turned out for the most part.  I also had an afternoon wedding and was the only wedding at the venue so my ceremony was in the Embassy Garden and reception in the Embassy Room, with the Terrace Room as the backup in the event of rain.  Of course the morning of it was torrential downpours and looked like there was no chance of it clearing, so the Terrace Room looked to be the obvious choice and was set up.  But 1 hour before the ceremony the skys cleared up and knowing I really wanted the ceremony outside they happily switched it to outside, which I appreciated.  My only issue is that they had some staff member being very vocal and making unprofessional comments about the last minute seating change, which is unfortunate to hear that their staff isn't sharing in the happy occasion with you.  While I had one other incident with this venue that prevents me from giving GLOWING reviews, I'd say it was a great venue but just make sure you ONLY work with your coordinator and clearly spell out any instructions for your party and vendors, because they don't really hold the rest of the staff accountable for setup, coordination and the event.
