Getting in Shape

Simple daily workout?

I'm a college student, and I don't have any fancy workout equipment or a gym membership, but I'm looking for some daily workout ideas to get in shape for my Engagement photos this summer.

I need to do some cardio to lose some fat, but I'd also like to tone my abs and arms. What routines do you guys do to get in shape w/o any high-tech equipment?

    I walk too - power walking/marching is thought to be more effective than running. As for shaping, I'd use water bottles if I were you for arms, and like burntofferings says, crunches/sit ups, that lot.

    So - walk wherever, whenever you can, as often as you can. Get a pedometer, or if you have an iPhone, download one. Also, you could download My Fitness Pal - great app for tracking your progress!

  • walking and running are great. You can pick up a decent weighted jump rope for 10 bucks! amazing to help tone up and get cardio in!

  • A lot of people recommend the 30 Day Shred DVD by Jillian Michaels. You just need a pair of hand weights and a yoga mat (or you could even use soup cans and a blanket if you don't want to spend money on extra equipment).

    If you have Netflix, there are some good workout videos on streaming, too. GL!

  • I agree wit the other posts, walking helps. In college I walked as much as I could, and took the stairs in lieu of the escalators or elevators. Eat well, and drink lots of water.
    Buy some good running shoes for good arch support (no need to kill your feet/knees)
