Who stands where

How do you determine who stands where in the bridal party?

Re: Who stands where

  • Other than the maid of honor and best man (who stood next to us), we just let all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen pair up and line up however they wanted during the rehearsal. I don't know if they were in the same order during the ceremony, but it doesn't really matter.

Your officiant or pastor may have preferences (i.e. only MOH & Best Man at the altar, etc)

During photos, the photog positioned everyone so we didn't worry about that either.
  • Thank you.  I'm starting to realize all the little things that i haven't thougth about;(
  • When I directed my nieces wedding we arranged the bridesmaids and groomsmen by height from shortest to tallest.

This reminds me a bit too much of grade school....i.e. when the teacher would tell everyone to line up when the bell rings in height order shortest to tallest (or alphabetical order, or whatever)!

    This.

"if you're taller than the person in front of you, tap them in the shoulder and move up" haha. Sorry, I was just super short in grade school and will never forget this phrase. Needless to say; I was always the last one in line.
  • my bridesmaids have two different style dresses, so they will alternate based off that.
