Re: Wednesday QOTD

  • We have had an odd winter, much higher temperatures then normal. I love snow. It's so magical and pretty to look at it. I wish we would get a couple inches before spring but I don't know if it will happen. Spring sports at work start on the 20th, so if it's going to snow, it needs to snow before then. Smile

  • i am not all that a fan of snow.

i grew up in snow.. and having to shovel and not being able to go outside for recess because i refused to wear a snowsuit. lol.

its pretty to look at... but i dont want to LIVE in feet of snow -- like i used to!

we don't get snow where i am at... (northern Cali) we get rain... and honestly.. we havent had much!
  • its snowing now...
People have been complaining of the lack of snow.. We live in PA... but if we get alot of snow then they complaine and run out and buy milk , eggs and bread... I guess they like french toast ?  Also some people around here still do not know how to drive in it... If you have lived here more then 3 years I think you should be used to it ...

I also used to live in Chicago... We never got a snow day they were So prepared it wasnt even funny !! Came back to PA and we had a week off from the blizzard of 93 I think ?? Crazy ! We havnt had much of that latly just rain/ice which is obviously more dangerous...

I like it... It's pretty....just do not like ice which is usually to follow ...

  • I like snow, but we haven't gotten any here.  I'm not really expecting any in SC though.  I'm kinda sad I haven't been able to wear either of the two new winter coats I got last year when I lived in NC.

  • I don't think I'd like snow that much! I've lived in Florida most of my life, so I haven't spent much time in it! My mom always said she hated living in the snow and was glad they moved when I was little.
It's been unusually warm here for winter. I would love for it to be colder! It's too hot to even wear long sleeves!
  • I hate it. We had a ton (about two feet) over a week. It started to melt and then it rained and froze on top of it, so now it's stuck here until it gets above freezing. I am not amused.

  • I don't mind snow itself, and I enjoy snow sports (snowboarding, skating, making snowmen, tobogganing).  I don't mind shovelling a little bit of it but am intimidated by the snowblower, so I hope it doesn't snow more than 5 cm!

We had 3 or 4 snowfalls of 5 cm each, but it has all melted by now.
  • I hate snow, so thankfully we have only had a couple days of it all winter...last week it was warm and sunny, I was rolling down the car windows.

(I live in Vancouver BC: we typically get 1 or 2 dumps a year and they cause traffic nightmares! and most of the time the snow is too wet to even really play in...so its just a bother)

  • I hate snow.  We had one day of it, it lasted about half a day.
  • I'm overall indifferent to snow.  I live in Michigan, so we get some.  After we get married we will live in West Michigan, which gets more snow than where I live now.  I like it when snow is on the ground, I like curling up with a book with lazy flakes drifting down outside.  I do not like how half the population seems to not know how to drive in snow.  It's Michigan, you'd better learn.  Also I don't like scraping my car.

Overall, if I could be guarenteed that snow would be around from say Dec. 23 until Jan. 23, but no other time of the year, I'd be happy.  It's the grr it's snowing in April (or October) that gets old.

I like snow, but I live in southern Alabama, soo...  Lol.  We got some snow in February of 2010.  It was about a 1/4 - 1/2" and snowed for maybe 3 or 4 hours.  Schools closed, lol.  That was the first time it had snowed here in 13 years.

ETA:  The snow in 2010 had melted by sunset the same day.  :-P

  • I like the snow. But, that's probably only because in SC we get it maybe once a year if we're lucky. If we got more of it my answer would probably be different. LOL
  • I do not like snow. It's pretty, but only if I'm at home and I don't have to go anywhere. I love when it snows on Christmas Eve, but only as long as it doesn't lay on the streets. I live in PA and we normally get a decent amount of snow, but we haven't had as much as usual this year. I am a teacher and we haven't even had a delay yet! We usually have had several delays and at least a few cancellations by now. I am fine with it, though. I don't like cold weather and I don't like driving in the snow. I have an all wheel drive SUV, but I still dislike it- especially if it's icy. I slid into my neighbor's garbage can a few weeks ago. Luckily she wasn't mad because I was sliding toward her until I turned the wheel. Not fun! It was snowing most of the day today, but didn't lay on the streets, so that's good. I have no idea why I live here considering how much I dislike cold weather. I keep asking H if we can move to like North or South Carolina but he says no haha.
  • Born and raised in FL so no snow.. Ever. I don't like it too much.

  • I like snow when it is in the yards and on the mountains, but not on the roads. ;)

We had our first snowfall in mid-November, and I think we've pretty much consistently had snow in our yard since then. We've had a couple of heavy snowfalls (14-24 inches), so the skiing and sledding has been good this year. We had a white Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and New Years, and will probably have a white Valentine's Day too. :)
  • I live in MN so we are kind of the land of snow haha. But this year, we have gotten very little. I got married on Jan 6th when the average snowfall would've been like 15in by then, but we had zero snow and 45 degrees. So weird! The snowfall from the winter before this one was INSANE though. Even though I've grown up here, I kind of hate snow.
