House mods / projects

In the rush to get ready for the wedding, our house has turned into a complete disaster zone.  It looks like a tornado came through & scrambled all of our possessions.  Old pictures for the slideshow, boxes from gifts received, luggage, extra invitations, etc.  There's so much to do in order to get this place livable again we don't know where to start.  Our current list:

DH's first 2 mods so far:
1) installing a pull-up bar
2) installing a luxury dual shower head (*swoon*)

    We are hoping to finish our basement this summer. I would like to put a fence in our back yard. We moved into our house two years ago and it was new. We have spent a lot of time with landscaping.

    We are hoping to do alot ourselves. So what I really need is a knot board dedicated to DIY progects for the home.

    Oh gosh, maybe when we own a place, we can talk about upgrades. =S

    FI is working on upgrading all the trim in our house right now, it's going to be a nice thicker white trim. We just used our tax return and upgraded our garage door to a new crisp white one with 4 little windows up top and we now have an electronic garage door opener! Too bad my little car won't get to park in there, it's reserved for FI's new (to us) BMW he bought the other day. Our next home improvement project is going to be building a garden/storage shed in the backyard so we can clear out the garage. Then we're going to be pouring our cement backyard patio to prepare for our AHR bbq. Our list of home improvements is never ending, we got our house in 06 and it was 30 years old.

    We moved in August last year...still need to unpack a few boxes that have been lurking around our bedroom...and to unpack our art work that is still in boxes. So Easter long weekend my plan is to get our house finally in order...proper clean...unpack all boxes and put everything in its rightful place.  Phase 2...to touch up the paint...Phase 3 yardwork.  J. :-)

    The FI and I just bought a house last week acctually :) We signed all the papers were approved and have our inspection Wednesday. They said we should be officially "closed" by the last week of April. Which is SOOOO exciting. :) It needs new hardwood though the last ownes did not take care of theirs they put tape down on their REAL hardwood to put rugs down and now the take ruined them. which i dont like the color anyways but who does that!? Also a fence in the backyard for a puppy
