Workout Accountability: Monday

Morning Ladies!

How was everyone's weekend?

FI and I spent most of the weekend relaxing on the couch.  It was boring but very needed.  Healthy eating actually went really well, and the scale thanked me accordingly.

Today is kenpo and a healthy dinner.  I can't believe this coming Saturday will mark the start of phase three!

How are you all doing?

I'm jealous of your relaxing weekend. We had more changes at work on Friday so I had to go in early Saturday, missing my class for the day. I ate pretty well over the weekend, but had some indulgent bites of Mac and cheese and chocolate cake each day, and Sunday treated myself to a cafe sandwich rather than my lunch from home. I thought that I would hirsute see a gain, but my number was still down this morning, so yay. We did shoulders today and then I ran 2 miles. I've got my meals planned out for the day, but that left over Mac n cheese looks oh so very tempting. ETA: more good news, I was able to wear a pair of jeans that I bought in like 2005 this weekend!
  • Hi,

This weekend was a much needed slouch around weekend. I started Bridalicious boot camp last week, so this is my third day. I survived 40 minutes of the second workout today (too many "burpees" for me lol)
Now on to the rest of my day :D
  • Zero - always an AMAZING feeling to fit into pants that didn't fit before!

This weekend wasn't as bad as I had worried it would be. Friday I ate a bit of junk food on the car ride to Detroit, but I still managed to get in 10,000 steps and wasn't too far over my calorie goal.

Saturday FI wanted to go to a restaurant for breakfast, and I told him the only way we were going was if we walked there. I'm glad I made us walk - it ended up being some of the only activity I had for the day. Came in at 9,000 steps for the day, but I was under my calories.

Yesterday was pretty good on food, till I decided I had to have some frozen yogurt. It was only like 130 calories, and I did work out after, but I still felt a little guilty treating myself to it because I hadn't had a good "hard" cardio session all weekend.

Tonight wouldn't normally be a gym night, but because I feel like a bum from the weekend, I'm going to go to the body combat class at the gym and then hopefully get some weightlifting in.

  • Way to go zero. That always feels good. Saturday we did a 4 mile hike elevation gain of about 1200 feet. Went to a BBQ on Saturday and had a few drinks but managed to eat relatively healthy. Yesterday was errand and rest day. Am off to the trainer this morning.

  • Weekend was pretty good.  Friday after work did my first bridal boot camp turbo .... wow that was a rough 25 minutes, but awesome at the same time.  Adding that to the days when I just do 30DS.

Saturday was my off day, had my first fitting ... was soooo excited to see the dress on and zipped.  I'm so in love with the dress ... I wish I was wearing it now!!!!  Then MOH and I went to pick out her dress.  After two hours of her trying on dresses and laughing till we peed, she had a dress and we went to chipolte for lunch.  I THOUGHT that I was bring good getting tacos instead of a burrito bowl, but no such luck.  Ended up eating only a small bowl of pasta for dinner so I wouldn't g over my calories.

Sunday started with morning spin and my weekly weigh in, first one after we dropped my calories.  Soooo nervous getting on that scale ... and it all paid off DOWN 4!  My trainer had goosebumps and tears in her eyes, those are the days we live for!

Monday morning started level 2 of 30DS, MUCH harder than level 1 ... and feeling good today, just a little tired ... 545 is not my favorite time of day to be up and doing jumping jacks.  Tonight will be another round of bridal bootcamp!  Can't wait!

Hope everyone else had a fab weekend!

  • My weekend was relaxing but I splurged too much.  I had sangria on Friday, three glasses of wine and filet mignon on Saturday, these peanut butter cookies I made yesterday...ugh.  My blood sugar has been acting up, too, so I feel like I've been eating like crazy in the morning/afternoon although I try to keep it healthy.  I snack on fruit and Luna Fiber bars and Chobani 0%.

But at least today I walked the 2 miles back and forth to the gym, rode the bike for 30 minutes, and did some strength training for another 30.

  • I had a .2 gain this week at my weight watchers way in.  I was kinda bummed because I had been going to the gym.  However, I did have jack in the box the day before I weighed and homemade fried rice that night.  I'm just going to jump back in today.  It will be day 4 of the couc to 5K program.  Hopefully my body doesn't scream too much since i've had two days off.

  • Ran 4 miles yesterday and 5 miles this morning.  Should be pretty good this week as we don't really have any plans.

Keep up the good work everyone!!

  • Morning,

I was out of town at a friends all weekend, too much drinking and not enough activity. Last week I was fighting something and it turned into a nasty chest infection so even if I wanted to work out tonight I cant. hoping by tuesday to be back at the gym.
Also decided to finally fully butt out and quit smoking for good. its something I have been toying with and I am not a "huge" pack a day kind of smoker but quitting is hard even if you are like me and only have 5-7 a day.

  • I pigged out over the weekend.  Fi went down 0.9 lb and I went up 0.1 (last week was up 0.1 again).  Not that its a big deal but I did bust my a** last week.  People have told me the usual "putting on muscle, less fat, blah blah, weigh more, lose inches".  And I have lost over 6 in total since March alone, but it'd be nice to see a drop too.   I think I am going to weigh in every 2 weeks instead of every week.  So I ate in celebration of staying where I normally am, weight wise, :P

  • Morning Everyone!

This weekend was pretty good, did lots of swimming and we hauled wood for a few hours which was pretty tough in this heat. I was down two lbs until last night. We had a family birthday party and had lots of Mexican food and delicious deserts. The two I had lost were back on the scale this morning.

Hopefully its water weight and will be off after I swim tonight, we wll see. Tonight I'll try to swim for a little longer and depending on the heat take the dog for a walk.

I hope everyone stays cool and has a great week!

Yay! You guys all are doing so great!

Souptin: when my sister was kicking it she put the money should would have spent on cigs in a special fund so she could buy herself a reward when she wanted.  It helped her to have a little more motivation and a fun reward in the end :)

Last Friday (after a cry fest with my FI on Th) we started trying to eat better as a couple and have been doing really well!  I haven't had more than 1300 calories/day since Friday and we have even been adding walks to our routine and I am looking into gyms!  Tonight we are having peach chicken, rice and steamed corn! Super happy with my start!

souptin - Congrats on your decision to quit! Your body will thank you for it long term!

I made it under my calories all but 2 days last week - Friday and Saturday. Friday we had dinner out and I went over by 200.

Saturday I went to lunch with my sister and her family, followed by a BBQ. I was really good at the lunch and ordered a healthy salad (thanks to Mom for also ordering the salad - everyone else had fish and chips!). BBQ I had two pieces of grilled chicken which weren't too bad, but the thing that killed me was the desserts. Poundcake topped with fruit and home-made whipped cream and homemade pudding with fresh-picked cherries. Still, it was also a poolparty so I did some swimming and was only 50 calories over, thanks to my wise lunch choice.

Today I have a healthy lunch packed and had a good breakfast. We are putting the house we have been working to flip on the market and having an open house for the neighbors tonight so I am trying to leave as many calories as possible for whatever fast food dinner I end up with.  Weigh-in tonight...no movement for the past 2 so I am really hoping for even 1/2 pound...

  • Zero - Congratulations! That is an awesome feeling! We need more of those moments.

Souptin - Good for you for making the decision to quit! Wishing you lots of willpower and happy thoughts!

This weekend wasn't too good, but oh well. It was my twin BFFs birthday party on Saturday, and we went boating on a nearby lake. I tried wakeboarding for the first time... and I think my arms were close to actually separating from my body. I physically could not open my car door on Saturday, and on Sunday I could do it with two arms and a lot of pain. My shoulder and back are pretty sore too... so exercise has been on hold. I just won't exercise through pain like this, if I hate the exercise I won't want to do it the next time, and I try to make it a positive activity.

I'm keeping my eating in check though! Hopefully things are less sore tomorrow so I can get out and run again. It's finally cooler here and I'd like to take advantage of that!

  • Thanks for your support guys!

I'm hoping that working out will help mitigate any potential weight gain.
FI quit in march and me continuing to smoke has made it extra hard on him and he REALLY wants me to be smoke free by our wedding.

  • Well, I'm back, haha.  I got back from the externship on Saturday evening, and while I had a fantastic time I am very happy to be home too.  I do a whole lotta nada yesterday, which was fine since I was on call and exhausted anyhow.

The two weeks were kind of on and off for eating and working out.  We were out and about a lot of the two weeks, so while I didn't eat fantastic I also didn't eat A LOT of food (unless you count the one evening I scarfed down half a pizza because I was being visited by Aunt Flow and was starving).  I was surprised that my weight was dead on what it had been when I left when I got on the scale on Sunday and hadn't gone up.  I partly blame the unrelenting heat and humidity for the stasis in weight gain.  It's hard to put on weight when you're sweating your you-know-what off while standing still.

This morning I started off with HIIT training.  Tomorrow will be a long cardio day before I get back with the PT on Wednesday.  Keeping track of food again too!

Another nice bonus is my horse should be arriving in the next 24 hours!  He'll either be here later tonight or tomorrow morning.  More money spent, but he'll give me something to go get out of the house and away from stress for :)

    Great job to everyone else!

  • Today is a rest day for me.  Didn't think I'd get in a workout yesterday, I was wrong ;)  My FI snagged some free tickets to Dollywood so we drove up to TN yesterday morning and spent most the day at the park.  There's lots of hills and walking and steps (and the crowd was low so no rediculous lines, we were moving constantly), at least there was a lot of trees too :)  My abs are feeling the workout from screaming on the rides too ;)  Wish I had a podometer to see how far we actually walked, felt like forever.  One of my favorite parts was the Mountaineer thing, they strap you into a harness and it's like a ropes course :)  That was so much fun and really good exercise too!  We totally pigged out on BBQ that afternoon though, but we were starving ;) We still have leftovers and it was SO good. Tonight I think we're going bowling... other than that I just want to take a nap ;D

  • Sarah I love wake boarding! When I lived in San Diego we tried to go at least every other day. It's physically demanding, but a really great workout. I drfinitely know tge arm ripped outof tge docket feeling. I wish I knew someone in Houston with a boat hahaa. Souptin good luck on quitting. I like the idea of putting the money aside for a reward.
  • Hi All,
I am more of a lurker on this board than anything (mainly because I am ashamed of my non-working out mentality lately). But you are all so inspiring, and you sticking to it, feels like great motiviation as I am only a month out from my wedding day. Keep up the good work!

*I had a second dress fitting on Friday and my dress fit perfect. That was great motivation to eat healthy all weekend!
