Breakfast food at a night time wedding?

My fiance and I really love breakfast food.  (I think most people can agree) So our thought was to serve breakfast at our nighttime wedding to make it more personal.  My mom did not really go for that idea.  Please let me know your thoughts and if you think it would be ok.

I think it would work great if you were having your reception at a time that would be appropriate for brunch.  I love breakfast food, but I think it would be inappropriate for a night time wedding.

Ditto PP.  If you changed your time closer to a brunch wedding it might work. But not sure if that would be the best for a nighttime wedding.

I love that idea! Breakfast food is so yummy. You could do crepe stations, a make your own omlet bar, a toppings bar for french toast and pancakes.

I love breakfast any time of day, usually, but I would find it odd to have a breakfast dinner at a wedding reception.

I agree with pp. I wouldn't want to do breakfast for dinner. I wouldn't want to dance and go all night with that on my stomach!

I haven't eaten breakfast yet and your suggestion is making me hungry!

I think it depends on the overall tone of your wedding. If it's formal and/or traditional, I think it might come across as odd. But it really depends on how formal/traditional the rest of your wedding is too. If it's small and informal, you can pull almost anything off.

My venue offers breakfast-y food in place of the desserts at the night. If you wanted to do like waffles and ice cream or a crepe bar, I think that would be a nice way to incorporate your breakfast food at the wedding.

Ditto. That's the only way I'd be happy with breakfast food at an evening reception. Most breakfast foods are too high fat/salt/sugar for me personally (not that I'd be attending the wedding). <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />

I would hate it if I showed up at an evening wedding expecting dinner and it was breakfast foods.

I am just not that into breakfast foods in general; and definitely not somewhere unexpected like at an evening wedding.  I would at least want to be warned so I could eat something beforehand.

I love having breakfast for dinner at my house, but I don't think I would want to eat breakfast food at a wedding reception.

i love breakfast food, but i wouldn't want it if i was going to an evening wedding.  i most definately wouldn't want to drink and dance with it. i think this would be better suited for a much earlier in the day wedding.  then i'd love it lol

I love breakfast food for dinner, but not at a wedding.  I'm not a big fan of mass produced breakfast food to begin with but also breakfast food is not very formal.  I just can't see loving pancakes in syrup while wearing a fancy dress.

We are thinking of doing the same thing with the "breakfast for dinner"  for our late afternoon/early evening reception.  Most people are ok with the idea but we're still toying with options.  Good luck!!

Personally, I would love it, but I understand why other people don't.
