To veil or not to veil

Is anyone not wearing a veil?  I really want to wear a flower/feather fascinator in my hair, but I'm not sure how that works with the veil.  Do I wear both at the same time?  Do I take the veil off after the ceremony and add the flower at that point?  Scrap the veil altogether?  Obviously, I can do whatever I want, but I'm just curious as to what other people are doing / did.

I just wore a flower fascinator in my hair. I had a veil on hand just in case, but it was SO windy that day and wasn't worth dealing with.

I'm going with crystal and pearl pins and NO veil. i'm going non-traditional with the dress (colored!) and can't find a way to make a veil work. so, simple pins it is!

I agree, this is confusing. I definitely want to wear a veil but I also want some sort of fascinator in my hair as well.

I'm wearing an orchid in my hair w/ the veil over it for the ceremony, and then I will take the veil off after/during pictures.  I'm not having a blusher though... just a simple waltz length veil hanging down the back.  Here are a few pics... unfortunately, we didn't take a pic from the back, but the flower just lays underneath.  It looked fine, and depending on the placement of the flower and how poofy your veil is, it might still be seen if you put it on the side.  You can kinda see from the side view that the flower is underneath the veil.  I didn't want to 'disrupt' my hairstyle by trying to undo the veil and pin in the flower.  I'd rather have the hairstylist take care of it all and show one of my girls how to carefully remove the veil.

I'm wearing a veil but only for the ceremony and posed portraits. Plus it's not going over my head, it'll be on a comb that'll stick into the under part of my updo. When the cermony is over, I'll just have someone pull it out from underneath.

Maybe you could wear the veil for the ceremony and put the fascinator in your hair for the reception if you can't decide between the two.

I'm not doing a veil, just some type of flower/crystal fastener.

Aku, our hairstyles will be similar! :)

I am wearing hair pins with crystal and a veil. If I want to take off the veil, I will and the pins will show, If I don't, the pins will show as well.

I had to get the veil! :)
