S'mores kit?

Our wedding is in October but I do not want our reception to scream FALL. I was going to give small pumpkins out as favors but that idea didn't go over too well. I don't want to give anything out with our names on it because i think that's pointless. Our reception is inside but there is a covered fire pit outside. I was thinking about giving out s'more kits for the guests to use at the fire pit but i didnt think this was enough of a favor for them because they are using it at the actual reception. The kit would include the basic graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmellows in some type of cute bag. What do you think?

I think I kinda love it!  Much better than your pumpkin plan. Don't worry about them not seeming like a favor if they get used there. They wouldn't have to use them there, right?  I confess I sometimes make smores in my microwave and sometimes toast marshmallows on my electric stove. Haha!

My wedding planner (www.emilieduncan.com) actually has a link to a s'mores blog on her website that was super cute. It has been within the past week or so. It was adorable!

I think the s'more idea is amazing!

How much did you end up spending for all of the s'more needs?

I love the s'mores kit idea!  If I was willing to spend more on favors I would be doing this too.

Someone posted a save-the-date or invitation as a smore's kit in the DIY tab if you want to check out what they did, it is really cute.

Hi Ladies! I am not even engaged yet but I registered on the knot because my wedding is of course already planned and I love looking at everything on the site and reading the forums, but I have never actually posted.  I saw this and I just had to post because I was at a wedding this fall and they had these customized smores as favors.  They were color coordinated and a photo was placed on them, but anything could be placed on them and they tasted amazing.  I asked the bride and she told me where they were purchased from and it was www.smoresmoochies.com.  They were absolutely gorgeous and tasted delicious as well.  I figured this could be another option since you wanted something that could be brought home.  Just another idea:)

My fiance and I loveeee the idea of S'mores Kit as favors.  We really want to do them for our september wedding. But i am so worried that our guests wont enjoy them.  My family is very traditional and theyre used to the tradional favor in the white box wrapped with ribbon. You know what i mean?  Has anyone ever done S'More favors for a tradtional family? How did it turn out?
