Guest Book Idea

What do you guys think of this idea for the guest book: either have guests bring a favorite recipe or mail it with their RSVP cards (recipe cards to be provided) to make a family cook book? My theme is farmhouse-ish...

    While I like that idea, II think that it might be best for a shower - you'll get better turnout!

    That being said, I've been to a wedding where they left a postcard at each seat for you to mail back to the bride and groom (they were pre-stamped) with a recipe and I was happy to do that and as a bonus, we had their new address.

    I agree that that'd be better for a shower, but nontheless a great alternative :-)

    I'm going to have a stack of cards for guests to fill out by the card box to put their names and well wishes on instead of a guestbook.

    I like the recipe idea, but I think its really popular with showers.  I am trying to make my RSVP as absolutely simple as possible, as they can get screwed up with the simplest instructions :)  We are using these cute books we found in hallmark - they come in sets of 8, and it's a little book you set out on the table, and it has about 14 pages and it gives you a spot to write how you know the bride/groom and any well wishes/advice you have for them.
