Reception location Help

Our main cost is coming from the reception. We haven't set our offical date yet, but if we can get the reception cost down from the potential 8K-ish that we've seen from the one place we have liked thus far, we may not have to wait to save that much money!

Any suggestions on reception halls? 150ish guest, East side KC, MO side perferd.
Thanks for any ideas!

    Howdy Jade!

Tim and I made our final decision for awedding on a  Friday in December. This saved us $3,000 from what a Saturday earlier than November would cost at our particular site. Other than Fridays being a good $500+ cheaper, we love the idea of family maybe just taking one day off from work for travel and then sticking around to continue the celebration with other fun family activities for Saturday and leaving Sunday for travel back home. We have family coming from Texas, Virginia and even a brother from London. I think it really helps that your flexible with the date. The only other advice I have is to keep looking, but try to narrow your search down quickly. A lot of the places Tim and I looked at are already mostly booked through October. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!!

I'm not sure when your wedding is, but the Historic Stowe Building is a new venue in the west bottoms.  They have all inclusive reception packages (including unlimited wine/beer, a dj, any caterer, etc).  I paid $3000 for a Saturday night and we'll have around 200 guest, but it may be going up soon-they were talking about raising the rates after the new year.  They're pretty much booked through the rest of this year, but maybe early next year?  It may be worth looking at.
