Engagement Ring Insurance

Hi Knotties,

Did you have your engagement ring insured? If so where? What are the price range and requirements to have the ring insured?

Thanks

Re: Engagement Ring Insurance

  • Mine is insured through Jewler's mutual. It's about $250 a year.

  • Ours is a rider on our homeowners insurance.

  • You can get it through your homeowners or you can get a seperate policy called a Personal Articles Policy which covers the cost of the ring for any type of loss, stolen or damage to it.  I have mine on that policy through State Farm & its $60 a year with no deductible!!
  • My ring is also on a rider on our homeowners. I think it costs somewhere around $120 a year os so. I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, but this was just much easier for us.

  • I also had it appraised and added a rider on our renter's insurance to cover it. The same goes for all other valuable jewelry pieces. I don't know what the cost is off the top of my head.
  • Thanks a lot girls!
  • I have mine insured through Jewelers Mutual (which is now Perfect Circle - www.perfectcircleinsurance.com). I actually got my engagement ring and the matching bands that came with it as a three-peice bridal set covered under it (eventhough I'm not wearing the wedding bands yet I felt better having them insured now just in case) - for all 3 rings it costs $124 a year.
