Nerves, or second guessing my dress...

I love it, but i keep watching wedding shows and then looking at the pics i have on my phone and second guessing a part of it.

When i first saw it on the hanger, i fell in love with the back and wasn't crazyu about the front top, but tried it on and thought it was beautiful, now i keep thinking about that top part and wondering if there's a way i can/should change the top.

It's a mostly satin dress with layered lace and crystals

I just think it's too much all in one area,  Nothing against those of you who have this, but i'm not crazy about the dresses where it's all detailed on the bodice and then plain on the bottom and althought it's not plain on the bottom (the design flows through the dress) it's the feel i get because so much of it is on the top area.

From my memory, the lace is a top layer, on top of the satin so i might be able to just cut (gasp) a part off and leave more satin remaining but i'm not sure exactly where or how much.  Also afraid how much that will cost, but first at least need another option.

Do you guys have any suggestions?
 Maybe it's just nerves.

here are pics close up and as a whole to get an idea

  it's a one shoulder dress

close up of the top that i feel is maybe too much in one area...

the back. you still cant see the full affect here but the lace design flows more from the front, around the side and then through the back here verus spotty areas

Its really tough to tell from your pics... sorry.
Maybe check with a seamstress you trust who really gets your vision/ideas.  See what he/she says... they would know best whether it is a good idea or not.
I would definitely stop watching dress shows and looking at pics, unless you are prepared to drop another $$$$ on a new dress.
The first thing the attendant at the bridal shop told me when I bought my dress was "STOP LOOKING AT DRESSES!!!"  I had a huge issue finding mine, so I definitely didn't want to second guess myself.  One dress is enough.
I think you made a good decision... it's a beautiful dress and looks great on you.  Don't drive yourself crazy about fixing this and changing that... you might turn a good thing bad, you know?  I would say ask about minor changes, but if it's a no-go with alterations, just be happy with what you've got... it's gorgeous.

I think your dress is absolutely beautiful! I see no problem with the detail on top and nothing on the bottom, I think the blank bottom makes the top really pop and the shape of the dress makes a blank bottom beautiful! However, if you vreally think youre not ok with it, then maybe see if you can add a little beading or something on the bottom, but dont take away from the top!

Im with Monica, STOP STOP STOP watching other shows! My sister is soon to be engaged and I find myself looking at dresses for her, but then I start seeing other one for me and it sucks. But I bought my dress for a reason, as Im sure you did too...and thats because you loved it!

    thanks guys!

you can click the pics to make them larger but i know it's still not perfectly clear.

I just looked at the pic of the dress from the designer's website and realized, one... more motivation to loose more weight, looks better on a skinner girl (big surprise)  :)  but also, the sample i tried on didnt zipper on top .. i was told i have a big rib cage bc it zipped up around my waist and hips but not there.. so in looking at the website, i realized the satin  strip on the top was more diagnal looking than on me looking more horizontal, that made me feel better.

I plan to loose more weight and dont even have my first fitting until July so i'm sure it'll look better by then, if nothing else, just drive them crazy then if i still want to change it, but i feel better now after looking at "what its supposed to look like".

I think it's beautiful too!  And just remember your feeling when you had it on rather than the photos.  I feel like amateur photos taken in bad lighting never make dresses look great!

After I found mine (but hadn't ordered it yet), I was looking back at my pics and went, wow, I thought the dress was so much better than this!  And then when I went back to try it on, it was just like I remembered and not like the pics!  So I ordered it.!

    thanks guys..

     You're right.
I dont know, you always see on shows (well, often) that when girls find "the dress" they cry,  i consider myself an emotional personn so i thought for sure i would and didnt, but just was smiling and it felt special.
So between that uncertainty still (maybe i wouldve cried for another dress- eventhough ive tried on about 20 something before this) , and not crazy about detail all on top, i started wondering if i made the wrong choice.

The pics were also with my cell phone's camera which is TERRIBLE with no flash and the lightning in the store was dim so it doesn't do it justice.  It was also just the sample so i'm sure (hoping Smile) that when i go for my first fitting in July i'll feel the same feelings.  lol hope so, it's too late by then  not  to!

    thanks again ladies.
