Whew, slowly but surely things seem to be falling into place. Still A LOT that needs to be done, but we are getting a little done every week.
Last night after work we went to meet with our Pastor, whom we absolutely love. We are not members of any church so I didn't think that our ceremony location/pastor would be a big deal, but he is making me so much more comfortable with everything. He even has great ideas -
i.e. We told him that we were planning on doing a receiving line and he said well, you could do X instead since your wedding is smaller and you are having a buffet, and we told him that we were not planning on pictures before, but he said that we may want to get the groom with the groomsman pics and me with the bridesmaids pics out of the way before so we can enjoy ourselves more inbetween (may have seemed like a duh, but we didnt think of it lol) and he suggested good times to arrive. We can drop off any decorations/guest books/dress/tux ahead of time, no problem. We can read any amount of secular readings as long as there is one non-secular (wasnt too worried about this, as we did decide to get married in the church). They can even make programs there if I wanted.
Next we went on over to a nice jewlery store in hopes to pick out FI's ring. Wouldn't you nkow that the very first one we asked to look at is the one we (he) decided on. I swear, we looked at 6 or so after and he just kept going back! Also, since my ring had a stone that fell out (NOT happy with the store FI got my ring from) and we don't live in the same area anymore we decided just to pony up the extra cash and get it repaired there. When I dropped my ring off to get repaired in the store FI bought it from the FIRST time, it took like 5 days to get it back. This store? ONE 1/2 HOURS! Cray.
Anyway, so we ran across the street to the mall so I could try and find a white dress for my b-party that labor day weekend (I made this trip last weekend to, and ended up with my shower dress). Well of course, no bach party dress...but I did find a really cute rehearsal dinner dress! I love to shop, but I am getting tired of looking for the dang RD dress! I am pretty tall (5'11) so all of these little short dresses are even shorter on me and I am not going to look like a hoochy lol.
So yay! Happy to have some things done. We are going to a friend's house tomorrow to bbq, swim and layout and she just asked if I had anything they could help with crafting, so looks like we will get a little more done!!
Any big projects this weekend ladies?
