Accountability - Monday

Good morning ladies, I hope that this post doesn't vanish, and none of your replies are eaten....

How was your weekend? Everyone doing well working towards their goals? Anyone have any fitness/health specific goals for this week?

FI and I are doing well at keeping things up. I am going to repeat week 4 of C25K just because I'm not sure I'm ready to move to week 5 quite yet. FI is starting C25K so we'll see what he thinks :)

  • Love the inspiration! Too bad I'm feeling too tired to even lift the towel lol
I really need to start feeling better. My energy is diminishing by the day and I can't seem to pick it back up. It's not a mental block either because I am still working out and wanting to; my body just has other plans. I supposed to do a spin class at lunch but I dunno if I should push it or actually rest.

  • The weekend was good, relaxed with fiance.  Went to the gym this morning at 5:30 with two girlfriends, been doing this for about 2 weeks.  Have lost a few pounds.  My goal for the week is to try to lose 3 pounds.  I have BM dress shopping with the girls this weekend and a few of BM I have not seen in a couple months, but they have heard all about my working out and such so I want to have some "progress"/pounds lost to show.

Another goal for the week is to try and get fiance to the gym with me or to go with his buddies who keep showing up at our house hoping he will go with them.  Fingers crossed for me.

    Happy Monday, ladies. Smile

Britt- I LOVE C25K.  I did it and it's what got me started running.  It was so nice, each week, to be able to run further/longer than the week before.  For an instant happiness kind of girl, that kept me motivated.  Week 5 was scary (with that 20-minute run waiting for you at the end), but Week 6 was my hardest week, since it had you going back to intervals after you had just run without stopping for 20 minutes.  Now I can run an hour + without stopping, and I seriously have C25K to thank for getting me started and keeping me motivated.  GOOD LUCK and don't quit!!

Michelle- I hope you feel better soon.  Sometimes I think it's best to just listen to your body (even if it's not at all what your head wants to do).  I was out for basically all of February for not taking it easy when my legs were obviously telling me something was wrong.  A week of rest could have prevented a month without running, and I regret pushing myself now.  Listen to your body and take a rest if you need one :)

I had a really good weekend, and I'm ready for the week to start!

... I'm down to the 130s!!  139.2 this morning!!  Woohoo!  I've lost 13.75 inches to this point, and 20.8 pounds.  My stomach is almost to the point where I'd be okay wearing a bikini again :)

Tonight is day 1 of week 2 of half marathon training, so that's super exciting too!  My knee was a little sore after last week's 4 miler, but it seems to be feeling better today.  I've been taking it really slow and easy because of my shin splints/stress fractures that had me out for most of February (don't want more injuries!)
  • I think TK ate my post... :(

It was a long-ish one, too...
  • That's awesome Jacqui!! Way to go!!
I'm the first to tell someone to listen to their body and of course I'm last to heed my own advice :P
I'm driving a coworker to the gym too so I guess it's spin today... I'll just try not to push as hard and see how that goes...

  • Not only did I attend spin class, but I ended up instructing lol. The instructor didn't show up so a few of us regulars (and devotees) stepped up and took turns leading us through a class. We hooked up my iPod to the speakers and had a killer workout. So much fun!!

  • Jacqui - Thanks for the motivation :) I do think repeating week 4 is a good idea for me, so I'm going to do a second week of that right now... but I am so excited for when I am able to say I finished it :) Hearing from someone who did always helps!

mamameech - Congrats on getting yourself to go AND instruct it! Great job on sticking with your motivation :)
  • I ate pretty terribly this weekend.  I was home visiting my parents and we went to my favorite Mexican restaurant (Mexican is my favorite food).  All those chips and the cheese...I didn't do well.  But I skipped the margarita and just had lots of water.

Today I am doing much much better!  I've had lots of water and FI and I just started Week 3 of C25K.  I still can't imagine running for 20 minutes straight, the three minute run was rough for me!  I'm thrilled we're doing the program and that we're doing it together.  I've started losing weight again--yay!  And that is worth all the effort.  I'm really hoping to be able to wear a bikini on our honeymoon.  I've never owned one as an adult.

  • Hello!

My weekend was OK. I did zumba on Saturday and a longish (3 mile) run on Sunday. I ate OK, but not great. I drank a lot. Whoops.

Got back on track eating-wise today but had some beers with dinner. I lifted weights when I got home, which felt great.

My goal for the week is to stick to my workout regimen. It's going to be warm out so I should be able to get 3 good 2-4 mile runs in, 2 stength workouts, and zumba again on Saturday.
