Rustic CT Wedding

Hi! I'm new to the boards and we're looking for a rustic barn/vineyard/unique space to have everything included for under 10K total. Is this impossible?

We plan to have a small (75person) wedding, but we want good food and a good photographer. Anyone know cute spaces and / or caterers that are cheap in the Hartford or Danbury area?

    Congrats and welcome.
I recently went to a wedding at the barn at wesleyan hills it was very nice inside and out by the pond area for the ceremony. I know a few girls here are getting married there so they may have more input on pricing.

I'm not sure how rustic it is, but Tarrywile mansion in Tarrywile park can be rented out.
There's also degrazia vineyard in brookfield, not sure if they do rentals

I know that Wrights Mill Farm on the Chaplin/Brooklyn line is amazingly beautiful but may be a little pricey.

We're getting married at the Barns at Wesleyan Hills next May. We LOVE our venue. I was going to suggest it but unfortunately they do have a 125 person minimum. I'm not sure if it is negotiable, we're planning for ~150 so I didn't ask. But it would hurt to ask.  Good luck!

we had our reception at Haight Brown Vineyard in Litchfield and it came in around $10k.  (i don't know what exactly you want included for the 10k...but the venue, food, rentals, drinks, a wine tasting & glass for each person, etc was definitely under 10k for us.  our entire wedding cost about $15k, but we spent over $6k alone on my ring & our photographer, so you can definitely keep it cheaper than that!)  the caterer that works with Haight Brown is Jill Nicolson of Cuisine with Jill in Torrington, and she is fabulous.  our food was absolutely delish!

My FI and I are getting married at The Mill on the RIver in South Windsor this fall...it has a rustic feel to it (it's an old grist mill) and the grounds are really pretty...PLUS you get a lot for your money.  They have 2 rooms, one upstairs with a 125 person max, and one downstairs with I think an 80 person max.

We looked at the Webb Barn in Wethersfield when we were searching for a venue...LOVED it!  The only major downside in our eyes was the fact that you have to bring everything in (they only provide table & chairs) and I think the reception had to end by 10p.m.

We used to live just down the street from the Barns at Wesleyan Hills and I used to go for walks past it all the time when weddings were taking place...they always looked really nice!

My co-worker got married at Tyrone Farm last summer...she said it was amazing, but the site fee is pretty expensive ($6500 then, so may be more now).

Webb Barn I think is going to be one of your best bets...I might be partial though because that's where we're getting married :-). It's afforable, and you can really customize everything to be as expensive or inexpensive as you want because you're hiring your vendors.

We looked at the barn at wesleyan hills and they were not willing to negotiate the pricing or the minimum, and we're pushing it with 100 guests...and they definitely came above your budget. When I called Tyrone Farm, they were $6000 just to rent the space for the day before food or flowers or anything else.

If you need any more info about the webb barn, just let me know!

We had about that slightly more people at our wedding and our location was perfect for it.  It was the Lounsbury House in Ridgefield.  Our caterer was Ciao! Catering out of Danbury (they have a restaurant too called Two Steps).  We interviewed a lot of caterers and they came in with not only the best food but also the cheapest price by THOUSANDS.  If you want more info on the caterer or want to see pics of the venue, PM me with your email address.  Good luck!

FYI, we also looked into Tarrywile Mansion in Danbury.  The rate was slightly less than The Lounsbury House, but you have to hire a police officer to sit at the bottom of the driveway the whole time.  With that added on the rental price was comparable, and we didn't like the space as much.  The woman in charge of renting out Tarrywile (at that time) also made it extremely difficult to even get in to see the venue.   Not accommodating at all... she seemed to have no desire to even let us see the space to rent it.
