Non Typical Menus

Is anyone doing a menu that is not the typical reception hall wedding food?  If so, what?

our wedding is in chicago too!  we're doing a mix of polish and german food served family style from polonia catering.  we have lots of time before we set the total menu but so far we're thinking:

passed appetizers: mini potato pancakes with applesauce; not sure what else?

family style entrees: chicken schnitzel (basically a chicken cutlet with mushroom gravy on the side); braised apple pork (might substitute chicken or is that too much chicken?); mixed vegetarian pierogi

family style sides: grilled vegetables; spaetzle; cold cucumber salad; potato dumplings

dessert: self serve cupcakes (part of our centerpieces) and family style pastries.

twe're also having a late night vienna chicago-style hot dog cart. :)

YUM!!!  I love tapas.  I always thought I'd have my rehearsal dinner at a tapas restaurant, but we're not having a rehearsal, so there goes that idea!
